Today we take a look at the entirety of the Maine Timber's roster, taking a deeper examination into their strengths and weaknesses as a whole. The Timber have been a bottom-dwelling team for the past few seasons and now look to make the jump into Four Star Contention. Without further delay, let's dive right in. The numbers next to each player represents their current TPE count.
CENTERS: C - Jay Cue - 828 C - Jesper Aittokallio - 565 C - Uhtred Ragnarsson - 440 C - Alexis Paquette - 404 Centers: Most successful teams are built very deep down the middle, providing a stalwart force on both ends of the ice, and the Timber are no different. Leading the center corps is Jay Cue, entering what is almost definitely his last season in juniors. Jesper Aittokallio takes the reins on the second forward line, who is the obvious favorite for S64's top line center assuming Cue makes the jump (or Jesper himself doesn't receive an early call-up). The last two down the middle provide even more strength for the Timber, as three of their four centers are completely maxed out for this season. Pretty safe to say this is the strongest aspect of Maine's game. How active are they? Out of the four centerman they have, only 1 remains as an inactive (Uhtred Ragnarsson). Considering the likely call-up of Cue next season, you can probably expect Maine to be taking another C in this upcoming draft. Needless to say, 75% active rate is still excellent down the middle. WINGERS: LW - Viktor Krunk - 571 LW - Achangelo Scaradog Jr - 524 LW - Guy Fieri - 435 LW - Big Newff - 430 LW - Maverick Seabrook - 427 LW - Mads McBride - 235 RW - JJ James Jamerson Angler - 439 RW - Smailliw Edac - 350 How active are they? In keeping with tradition, the Timber are 75% active on wings (6 out of possible 8). The two inactives, Angler and Seabrook, are relatively recent as well having both disappeared within the last month. Wingers: While this might not be their absolute strongest category, the Timber look almost as deadly down the wings as they do down the middle. Boasting 6 lefty's out of 8 possible positions, Maine has a deadly combination of high-TPE yielding players with more than just this season remaining in the minors. Viktor Krunk leads the wingers, followed by 5 more maxed-out players. Depth may play an issue here for the fourth line, and potentially even the 3rd, but this corps might be the best in the league come S64. DEFENSE: LD - Velky Muz - 448 LD - Michael Robertson - 325 LD - Tam Bunnings - 238 RD - Duncan the Walrus - 472 RD - Randy Marsh - 335 RD - Tim Bunnings - 209 How active are they? Falling lower than the average is the defensive corps, with 4 out of 6 players being active. Walrus and Robertson round out the inactives for the skaters, but luckily have enough TPE to remain effective during their absence. Defense: The Timber have certainly transitioned into an offensive-heavy explosive team, but that doesn't mean their defense is something to scoff at either. Led by veteran Velky Muz, the defensive corps is likely the weakest link the Timber have and will almost certainly look to improve upon... whether that is time, or through trades and drafting. The Bunnings Brothers fill out the bottom-pairing for the Timber, but have the potential to grow into the top pair in the entire SMJHL in the coming seasons. GOALTENDING: G - Rusty Remao - 503 G - Adam Rage - 194 Goaltending: There isn't much to say about the goaltending of the Maine Timber; Remao is a grizzled veteran of the SMJHL and will look to stand tall between the pipes this season and lead the Timber to a championship. Rage will certainly get his looks as well, but as the rookie his ice time will certainly be limited. Between the center-depth and aggresive-style of the Timber's play, goaltending also looks to be one of the strong suits of Maine. How active are they? How about a perfect score between the pipes? With Remao entering his senior season, luckily for the Timber Rage will be ready to take the full-time job come S64. Code: Words: 688
