Godwin is always looking for a press opportunity.  A chance to thank his gracious sponsors and preach the high praises of the Doritos™ brand of flavored corn chips is never a wasted time.  Whether its before a game, after a tough loss, or even on a night out with teammates, Godwin is always looking for a camera and a microphone to put his name out there and further the sport of hockey.  When not on official team business, Godwin will spend some of his free time to make trips to the local Doritos™ factory to speak with plant workers, and make sure when they see an opportunity to foster a hockey community in their town, they take that chance with visions of Godwin's generosity and good will.  After games or between periods, Godwin is looking to discuss the highs and lows while proudly displaying a bag of his signature Coolorado Ranch™ or Dragon's Breath™ chip flavors.

Being from a family that has been in the SHL for most of it's existence, Jesper is pretty accustomed to fame and being around cameras. However, that doesn't necessarily make things easy. While Jesper is used to it, in Manhattan we have so many new and young players that it would be a madhouse in there if we had a camera crew in.

Let's be honest, it isn't easy to get on camera and exude confidence. Sometimes you just have a hard time feeling confident, knowing that there are millions of people judging your every move. While that happens on the ice also, that doesn't necessarily correlate. When you're playing on the ice, people aren't seeing your face much, they don't hear you and the things you're saying, and there's so much more going on that they aren't necessarily focused directly on you the entire time.

You can feel invisibe sometimes, or at least faceless.

When you're the subject behind the scenes, it's a lot different. Our whole team would freeze in fear probably, at least for now while they're getting their feet wet. Jesper would have to jump in front of the camera and take some of the limelight just to help show his teammates how to handle it. So while he doesn't see it as any different, he'd be acting a little odd.

An old man's dream ended. A young man's vision of the future opened wide. Young men have visions, old men have dreams. But the place for old men to dream is beside the fire.

The Chicago Syndicate will look to continue their strong performances despite some of their known greats getting older and being hit hard with age regression. It is likely that the Chicago Syndicate will be taking a step back if some of the younger guys on the team can't step up their performances to match some of the veterans previous great performances. However, there might be a bit of the gap of seasons before the new guard can take over from the old guard. But, the Chicago Syndicate have always had a very strong coaching staff, so it is likely that they can keep on going, and at least have decent performances through this season and the next. It is very likely that the Chicago Syndicate will be able to avoid the league basement that some teams have been regularly seeing when they go through a rebuild. It will be an exciting next few seasons in Chicago for sure.

Quote:PLAYER PROMPT- Maybe you weren't the one in the elevator, but whether you like it or not your team's been chosen for filming this season.

Written Task: Does your player like being filmed? Are you a limelight seeker, or a player that prefers to be left alone? If it's the former, what kind of shenanigans are you pulling to ensure you get a ton of screen time in the final edit? If you're the latter, what clever maneuvers do you pull to keep yourself off of camera? A disguise? A convenient excuse? (150+ words).

Rafael is a man who often pretends to be comfortable with a camera in his face, the red dot consistently flashing above the never-blinking lens; the man or woman sat behind the camera asking him questions. He knows that it is something that is necessary, and occasionally comes as a package when he became a hockey player. However, he is naturally a quieter man who likes to keep most things to himself - and that never really flies well in the face of a camera. Rafael has come to learn when someone from the media is seeking him out, whether it is one of his teammates informing him that so and so wants to see him to speak with him or perhaps they find him before he gets a chance to disappear.

He does try to push someone who is more suitable to the task into the limelight, wanting them to have their moment in the spotlight whilst he avoids it; however, when its unavoidable, Rafael will concede to having an interview - answering everything to the point with nothing more and nothing less until the interviewer gets the general idea. He never is mean about his distaste for being in front of the camera, as he knows it will have the opposite effect on what he wants to portray himself as.

However, that being said, Rafael does like to have fun afterwards - see the finished media piece and have a laugh with the rest of his team in the locker rooms about what they all collectively said or did not say; or who was caught doing something silly in the background and getting away with it.

Hamilton is at a weird point right now. Last season we did not expect to be challenging for the cup, let alone win it, and this season is similar. It would take a lot of luck to win again, so we know its not a sure thing. In the next few seasons we probably have to start a little retool and move some older players for picks and prospects. Its an exciting time where there seems to be a changing of the guard in terms of leadership on the team and the team's skill going forward. We are probably going to start having to make more and more good picks to maintain our current level of play without a dip, which is kind of exciting as a general manager. I'm excited to see where the future brings us and how we get through this little lull in contention. Be on the lookout for a few big drafts from us in a row in the near future.

Hockey Prompt:

I think I would be hyping up the Los Angeles Panthers through the roof to this guy because we definitely have a story worth following this season. Finally broke through the regular big teams that have been dominant for so long in the west in Texas and Chicago and made our way to the finals last season after a disappointing regular season. We took it to long time powerhouses Hamilton and managed to survive till game 6 with them with all the games being pretty close. Really a couple more bounces and some of those games could have gone either way. But anyways, now we are one of the strongest teams in the league and Hamilton finally seems like they’re hitting their downfall (but how long have we been saying that?). The panthers are hoping that their strong core of s56 players will be able to push them to a challenge cup win and finally be a new team to win the cup in the past like 15 or so seasons.

Prompt 1 (can’t even remember when I last went for a P1 :D)

The Texas Renegades of this season are ripe with exciting storylines! From the stepping down of the previous management team at the end of last season to a true rookie on the team taking over as head general manager, to the departure of the team’s most prolific scorer these past few seasons and the team looking for ways to cope with that loss. The team welcoming a new high profile defenseman acquired through a draft day trade, as well as several prospect turned rookies joining the pro team and looking to find their roles. Also, by now and despite the influx of youth, mostly with an aging core, the team is looking to make one last serious push for another Challenge Cup championship before committing to another rebuild phase under new management. Add to this the league-wide uncertainty of having to cope with the new set of rules and regulations regarding simulation tactics. All these changes converging upon the Texas Renegades team this season should make for some thrilling drama!

After 69 shots on net with still no SHL goals to show for it, even the opposition started to feel so sorry for Lemo, that they decided to help him out :D
- Bad pass by Jack Klompus, he gave it right to Lemo Pihl.
- Lemo Pihl rips it to the net...
- Lemo Pihl will find the empty net, that should do it!
TEX @ MAN, S59 game 31

The Los Angeles Panthers are poised to be a top team in the SHL this season. Coming off a trip to the finals where unfortunately they fell short, the Panthers did not get hit very hard with regression as many of the top teams have. The early record shows as much since only a couple of games have been dropped. The forward depth is the true strength as only one forward is under 1000 TPE and two under 1400. Defense is not too shabby either but the true test will be if the forwards can carry a slightly lower TPE defense, even though it is a good group. The expectations for this team this season are nothing short of the challenge cup. With a lot of S56 members hitting regression next season, there isn't really a better opportunity. If this isn't the season then it becomes very difficult going forward to have the same opportunity as other teams get better.

Prompt 1

Marco Barengrub was quite surprised he was even recognized, after all he's only a depth player who just played his first season with the Tampa Bay Barracuda. He thought to himself that guy isn't lying, he's a true SHL fan. At first, Marco suggests they might want somebody else on the team to do that TV show. But since the executive said he was fine and it would only be a small part of an episode Marco agreed. They both keep on talking after going out of the elevator and they agreed on the subjects Barengrub would talk about. The first one being with some change in the rules, Tampa Bay feel confident they should do even better than the last season after losing in the 2nd round. The team is exactly the same, the chemistry + the new rules might make it finally possible to represent the eastern conference for the Challenge Cup. Marco still expects third line minutes with the same line mates and is hoping for a 40 pts season.

THIS IS IN REPONSE TO PROMPT TWO, ALSO KNOWN AS THE SECOND PROMPT.

Here are a couple of the storylines of centered around the Baltimore Platoons team:

-New Kid On the Block: Baltimore is supplying only a single contender for the Rookie of the Year award in S64. S62 draft pick, Alexej Komarek, makes his debut in a veteran line-up. Alexej isn't as far along as his fellow draftees, but with a little under 550 TPE to work with, the rookie is up to the task.
-Too Much Tuna on Broadway? How 'bout Too Much Ham?: The Baltimore Platoon have been improving their record the past 3 seasons to now sit atop the standings. However, as the playoffs begin, and the juggernauts like Atlanta, Tampa Bay, and Hamilton come from their hiberation of the regular season, then trouble sets in. Hamilton has ruled over the cup finals with an iron fist. Can the Platoon finally capture the gold after chasing that elusive dragon.

Zoltan belonging to the cult of the followers of the great and all powerful Zoltan does whatever he possibly can to get himself on film in order to attract more members to follow the teachings or lord Zoltan. The camera crew around Tampa bay is already trying to avoid Zoltan for trying to squeeze every possibly of screen time in. Zoltan has made some illegible posters to hold up and put up around the arena hoping that they make it into the final cut. Even after the camera crew left, they are still finding them round the arena and local venues. Some fans have even taken to selling them on Ebay as collectors items! Zoltan also seems like he’s answering regular questions about the team, but after a few seconds of what seems like good content all of the sudden it just becomes lord Zoltan said this and lord Zoltan said that. He is all powerful and provides me with the continued strength to play hockey.
