The Newfoundland Berserkers, Quebec City Citadelles and Maine Timber share an interesting rivalry; a rivalry that is nearly entirely geographic. This article attempts to take a deeper dive into who each of these three teams are, and how they fit into the rivalry.

MAINE TIMBER
Maine is having a strong season, boasting a record of 37-19-1 ranking them 5th in the league with 75 points, and 3rd amongst the teams in the rivalry. Maine's offense is their main carrying force, with 207 goals for (3rd in League) although their defense isn't far behind with only 173 goals against (7th in League). This is likely due to underdevelopment of their defensive core, with their top defenseman only having 448 TPE, Velky Muz of the S62 Draft Class. The team's saving grace is winger Viktor Krunk who has lit the lamp a team-leading 28 times this season and contributed 39 assists for 67 points, tying him for first in the league with Detroit's Sconnie McHits.

NEWFOUNDLAND BERSERKERS
The Berserkers are hard to deny as the top team in this rivalry, well on their way to secure their third straight championship and fourth in five seasons. With a maxed out team in nearly every direction, Newfoundland is a dominant threat in the league right now. More importantly than their current behemoth of a roster is the future they're building to keep the legacy going. S65 1st Rounder, Matsmith Söderberg-Tremblay, is already at a whopping 284 TPE, while new free agent signee Ashton King is grinding up to 189 TPE. S64 defenseman Luca Hunziker is leading the prospect pack with a nuts 459 TPE, making him a surefire powerhouse from the blue line for a few more years at the least. The team itself ranks 1st in the league with a monstrous record of 48-7-1 along with ranking 1st in both goals for and goals against. They're an all around package to say the least.

QUEBEC CITY CITADELLES
The Citadelles are the middle team in this three way rivalry, falling in at 3rd in the league with 79 points. Their story is slightly different then their rivalry counterparts, as they are the Cinderella team in the max. Relying heavily on their S64 & S65 Draft Class to fill in their roster, the team only has one strength on paper, Aksel Fiske at 869 TPE who leads from the wing, currently third in team scoring with 20 goals and 27 assists for 47 points. Sophomore Rylie Versi (389 TPE) currently heads up that leaderboard with 17 goals and 35 assists for 52 points. Sophomore goalie Justin Time (456 TPE) will be a massively important part of QCC's core moving forward and is performing great this season, ranking 1st in the league in wins with 35 and tying for 4th in SV% with a 91.2%, only 0.2% away from 2nd place.
PREDICTION
I think that these teams will end the season in much the same position as they are now; Newfoundland will likely close out in 1st place and repeat as the champions, Quebec City will finish 3rd, and Maine will finish 5th. It's a tight race, and it's a landscape that's bound to vastly change in the next season or two.
