Beginning the Vancouver Whalers' new era of rebuilding, they drafted a lot of amazing new rookies, but I will be covering 5 of them. These rookies did really well for being a rookie and playing in their first season, racking a high amount of points and a good game ratings. The five rookies I will be covering today will be: Benjamin Surkhi-Ze'ev, Matthew McGarry, B Jobin, Miroslav Ketil, and Capy Bara.

RW - Matthew McGarry:
With 19 goals, and 23 assists, combining for 42 points, Matthew McGarry was good enough to lead the whole team in points. He also tied the lead on the team with Backup Goaltender in shots, with 142 shots, an average of more than 2 shots per game. Additionally, he lead the team in power play assists with 11, and power play points with 15. He had a respectable 13.4% shooting percentage, good for second on the team. He had a respectable 47 hits, and a good 84 blocks, good for 6th best on the team. He had a very peaceful 17 PIM, and a 0.2 Takeaway to giveaway ratio.

LW - Benjamin Surkhi-Ze'ev:

Next, he lead the team in power play goals, with a nice, round 7 goals, and was second in the team in power play points, with 12. with 3rd in the team, he boasted a 13.3% shooting percentage. He managed 60 hits and 66 blocked shots, and a humble 10 PIM. He also had a 0.44 takeaway to giveaway ratio.

G - B Jobin:
As a rookie goalie in front of a young team, Jobin outperformed how most people thought he would. Boasting a 73 game rating, paired with a .908 save percentage, I'm sure he could say that he was proud of the season he just had. With 56 games played, he garnered 11 wins, 38 loses, and 6 overtime losses. He had an outstanding 40.77 shots against per game average, with still maintaining a save percentage over .905%.

RD - Miroslav Ketil:
With a humble 7 goals and 16 assists, good for 23 points, Ketil did good enough for 6th best on the team points-wise. He had a decent 108 shots, and was 3rd on the team in ice time with an outstanding 1423 minutes. He had an amazing 1.65 takeaway to giveaway ratio, with 38 takeaways and 23 giveaways. He had a great 75 blocked shots, paired with 35 hits.
