I've been a bit busy with my intern work lately so I haven't had time to do my second deep dive until now. I hope it is not too late, but if it is then I was too late I guess, but I have actually checked that it is not too late. It must be fate.. So I have written down all the draft picks that was used in the S65 SMJHL Draft. I passed on those that was actually passed. I've used the SHL Analytics v1.1.8 to go through all the players that was drafted to see how they rank in TPE after approx 50 matches of the regular season.

Alvin Towne picked as number 40 currently tops the TPE list. Quite a jump. If the GMs had picked from the list today I guess it would've looked quite different. Given the TPE Rankings the draft could have looked like this:
Round 1 1: Yukon Malamutes - Alvin Towne 2: Vancouver Whalers - Emil Egli 3: Quebec City Citadelles (via GFG) - Benson Fiorentini 4: Anchorage Armada - Nibbles The Squirrel 5: St. Louis Scarecrows - Edge Rocks 6: Maine Timber - Rikkert Bielemans 7: Carolina Kraken - Anthony Dionne 8: Kelowna Knights - Pyotr Gallen 9: Vancouver Whalers (via REG) - Tommi Koivu 10: Nevada Battleborn - Casey Fantobens 11: Detroit Falcons - Edward Elric 12: Colorado Raptors - Dominik Froste 13: St Louis Scarecrows (Via QCC) - Nikolai Skovgaard 14: Great Falls Grizzlies (via QCC, via NLB) - Tom Pedersen
Round 2 15: Kelowna Knights (via VAN) - Sir Devoir 16: Anchorage Armada - Pablo Pombo 17: Colorado Raptors (via GFG, via STL) - Oles Kobliska 18: Carolina Kraken - Philippe-Eko Eel 19: Vancouver Whalers (via GFG) - Alisters Vismanis 20: Regina Elk (via YUM) - Steven Connors 21: Kelowna Knights - Jonathan Mercer 22: Nevada Battleborn (via DET, via REG) - Thomas Nitro 23: Newfoundland Berserkers (via MET) - Julian Eaglesong 24: St. Louis Scarecrows (via NBB) - Graj Virrok 25: Yukon Malamutes (via REG, via DET) - Julian Flörsch 26: Quebec City Citadelles - Manny Calavera 27: Colorado Raptors - Kayden King 28: Maine Timber (via NL) - Bavel Pure
Round 3 29: Yukon Malamutes (via REG, via VAN) - Koty Kochan 30: Anchorage Armada - Angry Gilmore 31: St. Louis Scarecrows - Ged Sparrowhawk 32: Kelowna Knights (via CAR) - Otis Boudreaux 33: Yukon Malamutes (via GFG) - Flackoveli Lagerfeld 34: Regina Elk (via YUM) - Ralph Ryan 35: Great Falls Grizzlies (via CAR, via KEL) - Konstantin Äyräpää-Möttönen 36: St. Louis Scarecrows (via REG) - Munko Aitmukhambetov 37: Maine Timber - Matty Ice 38: Nevada Battleborn - Samuel Piccard 39: Vancouver Whalers (via DET) - Xman Damson jr 40: Great Falls Grizzlies (via QCC) - Luigi Ferraro 41: Regina Elk (via DET, via COL) - Mayson DeMonta 42: Newfoundland Berserkers - Jim Bob Alabama (This Would have been Joey Pizza, but as he was a multi I threw him out of this draft)
Even though I like to look back at what could've been many of those players in those team just look plain wrong. I have tried to remove those players that joined post draft. I have tried to avoid using them in this remake of the S65 SMJHL Draft. If you have read all the way down here I applaud you.
I knew Alvin went too late in the draft before this (based on his earning and performance for us in Great Falls) but this really emphasizes how much of a steal he was. Enjoyed this deep dive.
