After some seasons in the bottom of the league, the team leadership (GM-AGM) decide to help the rebuild by adding more draft pick to the SMJHL S65 Draft.

Thanks @tomtommen for the TPE check to help me for this one.

We got the 5th pick even if we finish 12th in the standings (on 14 clubs). We trade for the 13th pick with Quebec to have another first round pick.
In the second round, we got the pick of Nevada at 24th and not our pick at 17th.
The third round got 2 players selected by the team. One with the pick owned by the team at 31st and they traded with Regina to get the 36th pick.
The defensive of the team was the bigger problem following the S64, so the team picked three defensemen and a goalie. It will pay in the long run because 4 of the 5 players selected by the team are in the top 28 (two round) TPE after almost a season under the belt.

The goalie Anthony Dionne sits at the 7th spot for the TPE, but got drafted at the 36th rank. Relatively good season for a rookie goalie with three rookies on defense. Not the best stats, but the progression is there so there is hope for next season.
Two positions after Dionne, Tommi Koivu is close to where he's got drafted with the 5th pick. He brings a physical presence on the ice with 93 hits good for the third position in St Louis. With a little bit over 20 min per game and 19 points, he has a bright future.
At the 21 TPE rank, we find the left defenseman Jonathan Mercer, who was drafted at 24. On the third pairing, he got unlucky with only 4.3% of his shot becoming goals.
To close the second round of the TPE ranking, Bavel Pure is there. Tied at the 4th goal rank of the Scarecrows with 15, he's always a menace. With our top LW going in the SHL next year, he will have a chance to be the next top scorer on the team.
In the middle of the third round, Konstantin Äyräpää-Möttönen play better than his ranking. Playing with Mercer on the right side, he put also 19 points, but 90 hits so far so with Koivu X2, our defensive is strong and we punish the other team.

With all these rookies, the St Louis Scarecrows are 6th in the standings and are well higher than the media were putting them. In the good division Walker were Québec lead the group, Colorado and St Louis are fighting for the second position with 71 and 68. Only three points are separating them and St Louis with a game in hand. Carolina is not doing bad either, even if they're last with 56 points.

It will not be easy in the playoffs, but we hope to at least win the first round. We got some success against the top teams so we can be the underdog of the S65 playoffs.

We're not gonna lose a lot of players after the season, so watch out for next year.
