(GRADEDDeep Dive #1 - A New User's Evaluation of Eastern Conference Goalie Situations

For this deep dive, I will examine each team's goalie situation from the eastern conference of the SHL. This is an evaluation from someone who just recently joined the league and I'll be looking at this on the surface level, without knowledge of planned successions, retirements, etc. Without further ado, here we go:

Inferno Atlanta Inferno Inferno

Atlanta is in a great spot. They have two younger goalies, Evgeni Petrov (season 59) and Recently Tired (season 62) who both performed well this past season. Recently Tired hasn't updated since mid-April, but if they aren't in-active, look for these two to be a tandem for multiple seasons. If they are in-active, Atlanta has a multitude of goalies to pick from this draft.

Platoon Baltimore Platoon Platoon

With how many goalies are available this draft, I think Baltimore could end up picking one up. Their starter, Luca Del Vecchio (season 51), is a solid but older player who most likely doesn't have too many seasons left before retirement. While they seem content on having an inactive backup, Corey McFarland (season 60), drafting a goalie to eventually succeed Del Vecchio would be a smart option here.
Stampede Buffalo Stampede Stampede
Buffalo is in a very similar situation to Baltimore. Elizabeth Doyle (season 51) is still going strong after 12 seasons in the big leagues. They have an inactive backup, Skating Dino (season 62), and seem content on keeping it this way. Depending on how long she plans to play, drafting a goalie to go into the pipeline and eventually replace Doyle would not be a bad decision here.
Steelhawks Hamilton Steelhawks Steelhawks
Hamilton was recently dealt a big blow when longtime goalie A Jobin announced they were retiring. Most likely taking the reigns from A Jobin next season will be, of course, B Jobin (season 65), who is currently with Vancouver. They have an inactive backup in Walrus Walrus (season 55). With B Jobin being so young, there will most likely not be a goalie selected by Hamilton this draft.
Rage Manhattan Rage Rage
Manhattan seems to be pretty set on their goalie situation. Entrenched in the starting role is Name Redacted (season 54), while they have inactive Mertin Broduer (season 55) as their backup. Unless they want to change course and develop a backup in the minors, I don't see Manhattan taking a goalie.
Patriotes Montreal Patriotes Patriotes
Montreal currently has one of the best goalie situations in the league. Both of their goalies, Brick Wall (season 62) and Damien Vertigo (season 56) are younger and have similar TPE. Brick Wall looks to be the starter in Montreal for a long time and I don't Montreal selecting a goalie in the near future.

Wolfpack New England Wolfpack Wolfpack
New England seems to have their goalie situation figured out. They will call up Evert Jansson (season 63) from Detroit soon to replace inactive backup Tobias Lindeman (season 50). Paired with veteran Thor Odinson (season 54), New England will have a nice tandem with a future franchise starter in Jansson for the foreseeable future. Don't look for them to draft a goalie anytime soon.
Forge Philadelphia Forge Forge
Like New England, Philadelphia has their future set. Scoochie Stratton (season 54) is entrenched as the teams starter while inactive backup Dominik Tretyak (season 62) will soon be replaced by BASE PACK (season 65), who is currently in Carolina. These two will make a tandem for years in Philadelphia, so it looks like the Forge won't be drafting a goalie this time around.
Barracuda Tampa Bay Barracuda Barracuda
Tampa Bay is another team that doesn't look like it will be drafting a goalie in the near future. Franchise legend Strom Chamberlain (season 52) still has some time left in the league, while Isabella Bouchard (season 65) finishes developing in the minors. Look for inactive backup Geezus Kryyst (season 42) to eventually be replaced by Bouchard, who looks to become the future of the franchise.

Stars Toronto North Stars Stars
Toronto continues the trend of teams that are set with their goalie plans of the future. Longtime franchise goalie Harry Carpet (season 47) is nearing the end of his career. Toms Zile (season 64), who is currently down in Detroit, looks to be the future. If Toronto plans on going from Carpet to Zile while keeping an inactive backup, they won't be taking a goalie for at least the next few seasons.
