The Detroit Falcons are coming in hot from an amazing regular season. They have only lost 5 games in regulation, and 2 in OT, during the regular season and have shown to be able tot beat every other team out there. They could split the team and their 120 point in half, and still make the PO's with both teams. They have scored the most goals in the league by about 10%, and the only team close to challenging them for least goals against in the league are the Newfoundland Berserkers. All other teams have seen at least 25% more goals ending up in the back of their nets.

The team looks more than ready for the playoffs as well, with 12 players playing at the top of their SMJHL game and a couple of well earning rookies to complete the pack. Three of their top players have made it into the top 10 leader tables for goals, and the same goes for the assists rankings with Ivan Lacksamus leading the team and league in goals (holding a 5 goal lead over the number two) while also being 6th in the league in assists. Eddie Creller is 4th in assists, and 5th in goals and the other players in the leaders rankings top 10 are Moritz Seider (8th in assists) and former goalie Mrs McSaves (9th in goals). Eddie Creller and Ivan Lacksamus are also dominating the points raknking, while the entire Falcons first line (Steady, Seider, Azjha, McSaves, Lacksamus and Sunazzo) is holding the first 6 places of the plus/minus ranking. The rest of the team didn't slow down on their production either, with everyone down to their rookies and even the draftable free agent that was signed just 3 games before the end of the regular season picking up plenty of points. The absence of any Falcons in the fights or penalty minutes tables has been a contributing factor to their success as well. Their clean and crisp, fast flowing goal scoring game really worked for them, and they never had to resort to a lot of physical play to get to where they are now.

The Detroit Falcons goalies played a big part in their success as well. The Falcons played a successfull tandem with Jansson and Zile, with both of them having a great GAA and decent Save%. In fact, the only goalie with a better GAA was a backup, who only played the weaker opponents for the Newfoundland Berserkers.

All in all, the Detroit Falcons look like the dead set favourites for the S65 Four Star Cup, and barring any huge upsets there should be no team out there able to win more than 1 or 2 games in any of the upcoming playoff series against the Detroit Falcons. It wouldn't surprise me at all if we got to see a couple of sweeps from the Detroit based team in this season's post-season, bringing the season to a quick end for the league.

SKREEEEEE.
