Unfortunately, the Detroit Falcons are very good. After finishing the regular season with 59 wins and 120 points, the Falcons are poised to make a deep playoff run, and favorites the win the championship. At the time of this writing they hold a 2 games to 1 lead over the Yukon Malmutes in the second round of the SMJHL playoffs. Yukon has stolen one game, but it will be tough sledding for the Mutes if they want to knock off the top seed to advance.

The Falcons had a number of players on the leaderboard in the regular season, and held the top 6 spots for plus minus in the league. Ivan Lacksamus had 46 goals on the season to lead the league, while teamates Eddie Creller and Mrs. McSaves had 36 and 33 respectively. Eddie Creller added to their point total with 52 assists, giving them 88 points total on the year. Moritz Seider added 48 helpers for the Falcons, and Ivan Lacksamus added 48 assists of their own. Ivan Lacksamus 94 points lead the league, and Mrs. McSaves also found herself on the leader board for total points with 76 of her own. Eddie Creller lead the league in Power Play Goals, with 16 on the season, two ahead of the second place finisher. On the other end of the spectrum, Mrs. McSaves and Holden Steady both lit the lamp twice a piece on shorthanded goals.

In regards to the plus minus category mentioned above, the six players topping the list are as follows. Holden Steady had a +79, Moritz Seider, Mrs. McSaves, and Sam Azjha all had +75, Ivan Lacksamus had a +66, and Drakocarr Sunazzo finished with a +62. Sunazzo also had 136 hits to go with their +62, good enough for 4th place for hits on the season.

While they didn't find themselves with the highest shot percentages in the league, three Falcons did land in the top 10 for shots on the season. Moritz Seider let it fly 302 times, good enough for second most shots on the year. Eddie Creller contributed with 296 shots, and Ivan Lacksamus had 289 shots for the season.

The Falcons had two very successful goalies this season, with Every Jansson and Toms Zile both putting up impressive stats. Evert Jansson had 33 wins as the primary goaltender, while backup Toms Zile had 26 wins of their own. Jansson and Zile finished 2nd and 3rd in the league in Goals Against Average, with Jansson allowing just 1.99 on the year, and Zile giving up 2.10. Evert Jansson also had an impressive 9.55 goals saved above average, good enough for 6th place on the leaderboard.

Every Jansson's .915 save percentage was good enough for 3rd place on the season, with Toms Zile having an impressive .910 of their own in 8th place. Jansson and Zile combined for 8 shutouts on the season, with five belonging to Jansson and 3 for Zile.

As a team Detroit notched 330 goals and allowed just 137. Having scored the most, and allowed the fewest goals on the season, they had a jaw dropping +193 goal differential on the year.

Can Detroit continue this success through the rest of the playoffs and bring a title to the Motor City? I certainly hope not.
