WHO ARE THESE TASKS FOR? S67 SMJHL Rookies (S68 SHL Draftees, AKA anyone with "[S68]" next to their player name)

TO CLAIM TASKS: Make a post in this thread and link each task you completed (please keep all claims you are making at the same time in a single post). Afterward, a member of the PT Team will come by and grade each task to verify if the task is complete and award site money.

Once a PT Team member has edited your post (you will be notified via a ping on the site), please create a separate post in the thread for any additional tasks completed, as well as link any previous claims you have made.

PAYOUT:
- $1,000,000 per task completed
- $1,000,000 bonus for completing all tasks
- A total possible payout of $9,000,000 (8 Tasks + Completion Bonus)

To claim this task, find a TPE claim where your name is listed with a TPE value next to your name. Then, right click on the post number in the top right corner of the post, then choose "Copy link address." Afterward, paste the link in your claim post.

5. Create a graphic and post in the weekly submissions forum of the graphics thread found HERE

- Please put that this graphic is a "Rookie Task Graphic" in the title of the thread. Every graphic that is submitted as a rookie task graphic will receive a base payout equivalent to a grade of .5 / 5 on the graphics grading scale for 125k. With the 1M received for doing this task we hope this mitigates that payout and also makes things much easier on the graphics team. By labeling it a "Rookie Task Graphic" as well, you will not use your 1st-time graphic bonus.

NOTE: If you do not label the graphic with "Rookie Task Graphic," then your post will be submitted to normal grading guidelines and will use up your 1st-time graphic bonus.

      - Write 150 words about the games that happened during the stream

      - Create a 2-min podcast about the stream

      - Create a graphic about your favorite part of the stream ( please post the graphic in the rookie task claim thread and not as a graphics submission)

8. Complete the Rookie Survey (post that you completed it and we will verify with the rookie mentor head that it is complete for credit)

    - As recreates can not complete the rookie survey we simply ask them to link a player page from a past player for this task instead

Grading will be done when it's best available to the PT Team members, so please be patient if it's not done right away.

Remember, rookie tasks are available to a user only once during their lifetime on the site, not once per player.

The match started off strong, with both the Nevada Battelborn and the Quebec City Citadels getting good chances in front of the crease. Both goalies had other plans with Justin Time (NBB) and Valérien Sa (QCC) shutting any offense down with electric saves to keep the score even. With 7 minutes to go in the first perid, Nevada was awarded a power play after a minor penalty call against QCC’s Tommy Thompson for Cross-Checking. Sa held the fort and both teams headed into the second period on level ground.

The second period started of strong, with Chad Nickelback giving the Battleborn its first lead of the match with a booming shot, assists from Foxy and O’Slaphan at 1:51. Quebec would hang in the game and keep pressuring Time’s net with a flurry of shots that would eventually get the better of the netminder who had been brilliant up until Sophie Bordeleau’s shot found twine. Once again, both teams headed into the lockers rooms even stevens.

The 3rd period saw a lot of battle, with Nevada looking poised to complete the sweep and Quebec looking to fight another day and force a game 5 in Nevada. Shots were plenty, saves were incredible and the game was headed to overtime.

Nerves were high and both teams refused to let go of even an inch of ice, fore-checks being effective and back checks just as much. It took Nevada 13 minutes to solve the riddle that had been Sa for the whole game. Paul Peterson’s heroics came in the 13th minute of OT as Laraque and King’s setup allowed him to settle it in OT for the 4-0 sweep championship!

Friday night was an exciting time to watch the live draft for the SMJHL and it began promptly at 9 pm est. The first two picks were no surprise to anyone and John Brown (ACap) was quickly grabbed by the Nevada Battleborn followed immediately by Nash Topalo (Rangerjase) off to the Detroit Falcons, but this is where many people's mock drafts were derailed, and first-year players had their moment to Shine. Leading the way at 3 OA was Pete Aleman being picked up by the Kelowna Knights followed by a flurry of other first-time players being grabbed up by top-tier organizations. As the first round went on I had an inkling from the way some of the GMs from a few organizations that I might be a solid second-round or possibly even first-round pick, but I did not know which teams were most interested and where they valued me.

As the picks were called out and rookie defencemen announced one after the other I held my breath each time until the name was said. Finally, at 10 OA the Vancouver Whalers were up, a team that I was excited to potentially play for, and they announced Cal Kono, I was now a member of the Vancouver Whalers, picked 10 OA much higher than I ever would have thought as a brand new member to the community. I continued to watch the rest of the draft to find out who my new teammates would be. Shout out to the hosts and the team that put all of the work into making the draft a success. It is an exciting way to start off my career in the SMJHL and SHL.
