S67 DFA Bounties #1 - The Past
#1

Hello new players!

From the Trade Deadline to the posting of the first task completable for TPE, whether that be the Interested Prospects Threads, Early Bird PT, Mock Draft, etc., DFAs will be able to complete weekly DFA Bounties. These Bounties will function practically identically to PTs, but with money instead of TPE, and will be posted in this part of the forums. By writing 250 words or completing a graphic for a certain prompt, DFAs will earn $500,000 for their bank accounts, with a cap of 4 completed bounties ($2,000,000).

Since the trade deadline was last Monday, I am pleased to bring you the first S67 DFA Bounty:
Written Task: Only the best of the best make it into the SMJHL. Junior players from all over the world come to this league in the hopes of being drafted, becoming a successful SMJHL player and continuing that success in the SHL. But we all have a history too. What is your history? Where did you play? How did you do? How did your career look so far, and what aspects of your player in their pre-SMJHL career is going to make your player succeed? (250 word min.)

Graphic Task: Pictures say more than a thousand words. Show us a pic of the young you, playing hockey. Include your player name and a render of your younger self, and at least one statline.

Reward: $500,000

Only current SMJHL Draftable Free Agents (S68 SMJHL Draftees, SHL class of S69) are eligible for this bounty.

There is no need to claim this anywhere. After grading the money should pop up in your account 'automatically'.

Deadline: Sunday, October 16th @ 11:59pm PST

Petr Vrána is a Czech professional ice hockey player who most recently played for HC Škoda Plzeň in the Czech Extraliga. At just fifteen years old, he is considered a top prospect in the upcoming SMJHL Entry Draft. Vrána made his professional debut for his hometown team this past season where he appeared in all fifty-six regular season games, recording thirty goals and forty assists. Following his rookie campaign, he was named Czech Extraliga Rookie of the Year. Before that, Vrána was trained through the HC Škoda Plzeň academy system which has pumped out other notable hockey players such as Martin Straka and Petr Sýkora.

We asked an SMJHL scout about their thoughts on what makes Vrána an intriguing prospect ahead of next month's draft.
Vrána thrives primarily in the offensive zone, with a profound ability to read the offensive zone and find open ice to play the puck from. No matter if it is shooting, passing, or puckhandling, Vrána seems to always have the ability to make the best decision in order to unearth grade-A chances. With that said, Vrána is no slouch in the defensive zone, being ruthless on the puck and using an active stick in order to suffocate any pressure his opponents attempt to generate. What really stands out about Vrána's game is his athletic abilities. His skating already surpasses that of his draft class, aiding him in escaping checks and finding open ice, and on top of that his size as a fifteen-year-old allows him to compete with the professionals in the Czech Extraliga without fear.

June 29th, 2022 - After the Tampa Bay Barracuda lost the Challenge Cup to the Los Angeles Panthers, washed-up SHL defenseman Jöörgüštrâäd DuBølk died in his home in Atlantic City, New Jersey. He had placed all of his money on the Barracuda to win the cup, but due to the sadness he experienced after said loss, he spontaneously combusted. During the accompanying police investigation, no remaining body parts were not found.

Meanwhile, in Tampa Bay, Florida, retired SHL defenseman Jøln DuBølk received a notification on his phone that his home was broken into. Upon investigation, no items of value was stolen, but DuBølk's trashcan in his master bathroom was mysteriously empty.

In October of 2022, in Gothenburg, Sweden, Jølñgüštrâädæviñçh DuBølk makes his debut for the Swedish Junior National Team. He had not appeared on any teams prior, nor has any record of him been found in any other territory. What is known, however, is his presence on the ice. At a towering 6 feet 9 inches, he was far ahead of the pack in terms of physicality and hockey IQ (especially compared to the other sixteen-year-olds on the ice). Combining for 12 points for the night, including a hat trick, many have wondered where he had came from. Despite the last name, Jøln DuBølk denied any association with Jølñgüštrâädæviñçh DuBølk, saying that, while he does look familiar somehow and could be a long lost relative if you squinted hard enough, he wholeheartedly denied any relation to him, stating "DuBølk is becoming a more common last name, heh."
