Please pick ONE prompt to write about. Do not mix and match prompts. Identify the prompt you are using in your submission - Copying and pasting the prompt will deduct from your word count so if you do this make sure YOUR submission is 150+ words excluding the prompt.

CREATIVE PROMPT - As the regular season comes to a close, you're called into the office for a quick chat with management. They let you know you hit your performance bonuses this year, and a cool $750 000 cheque will be hitting your account tomorrow! Nice!

Written Task: What do you do with you $750k end-of-season bonus? Buy stuff? Like a fancy new car or an indoor pool? Donate it? What kind of charity would you be looking for? Does your player have their own foundation? If so what does it do? Tell me what you plan to do with the money! (150+ words)

Graphic Task: Show me what your player gets up to with their $750k.

PLAYER PROMPT- If you wanted a classic nuts and bolts player question then boy have you come to the right place. After you collect your bonus cheque you start to negotiate with the GM about next years performance bonuses!

Written Task:  Looking at your stats and achievements this season, what kind of bonuses are you going to try and negotiate for and why? What did you excel at, and how do you convince the GM that you're the best one to bring it to the table? What did you struggle with this season, and how do you make sure it doesn't come up in negotiations? (150+ words)

Graphic Task: Create a S67 card for your player highlighting two of your best stats this season.

You will receive 3 TPE for fulfilling all requirements.

All responses are due on Sunday, October 23rd at 11:59 PST. NOTE: IF YOU SUBMIT/EDIT AFTER THE DEADLINE YOU WILL RECEIVE REDUCED/NO TPE. Affiliate claims from either PBE or ISFL or WSLB or SSL are accepted; link directly to your post and note if your username is different there.

If you have any questions/concerns, please PM me. Tasks with malicious intent will not be graded. The graders reserve the right to determine malicious intent, after discussion with me. You will not be warned.

This task is for SHL players and send downs only, it is not for SMJHL rookies.

Answering creative prompt:

Vaseline Podcalzone remembers his first bonus pay quite well. It caught him by surprise at first.

Fortunately, his agent has really helped him a lot with preparing for what to do in this scenario. Podcalzone knew to not blow all of the money in one go, and to play it safe.

Mainly though, Podz did end up using a bulk of it to help pay off his condo unit that's right next to Climate Pledge Arena. I mean, that's the stability that you want, especially knowing that he had the desire to stay long term in the city of Seattle and with the Seattle Argonauts franchise.

For the most part though, the rest of it went into the savings account, with some of it used to buy some minimal purchases to make life in Seattle a bit easier. A brand new coffee machine was probably the best one out of all the purchases, though. Can't go wrong with coffee.

Honestly, Leon suddenly broke out this season as a goal scorer which really surprised everyone in the organization, including Leon. While it was tempting to add on a goals driven performance bonus to Leon's next contract, with regression progressively getting more difficult, it just doesn't make sense to put that sort of conditional money up at risk and harm the team. Leon would happily take the 750k bonus however and would go purchase a few things. First, a new car. Doesn't matter what it is, Leon just needs one. Then he'd go buy a Nintendo Switch so he can play Pokemon and Super Smash Bros. Third, he'd probably go buy a new PC to replace his now 6 year old Macbook Pro so he can finally play some games on a laptop. Then maybe he'd also purchase an Oculus or some form of VR headset so he can play some of those neat VR games like the NFL one.

Mikko Rashford is heading straight to the card shop.  He'll admit it now, its a full blown addiction! What started as just some fun after games has turned into a daily obsession of opening packs and looking for Hall of Fame cards.  His General Manager doesn't know, but every single penny from his last contract went into hockey cards.  You'd think a person who already has eight of his own hockey card would be satisfied with that, but no, Rashford must get more!
Rashford has been known to ask league officials if they know when new cards will be released to the public, and whether or not that will mean he gets a new card.
There was a time in Rashford's life where the bonus cheque would have gone to charity, once known for a philanthropic life not needing much to live on.  Well most of that is still true, but the stacks upon stacks of card in the basement are really starting to pile up

A $750K end of season bonus would seem like a lot for Ben Jammin but he has a hefty bank account of over $90M accumulated from his DJ'ing performances and all the endorsements he has gotten over his illustrious career. Ben will donate the $750K for the Chicago Syndicate kids hospital to help pay off the bills, maintain the building and buy whatever the kids in there desire. Growing up Ben didn't come from a wealthy family so he knows what it is like to not have all the cool toys and gadgets that other kids have. Now Ben will pay it forward and allow the kids in Chicago to have whatever it is their heart desires.$750K is a nice number, but a cool $1M seems even cooler so Ben Jammin will donate an extra $250K out of his own pocket to the hospital as well. He will also treat everyone in the hospital to a syndicate game with press box suites and a bunch of syndicate swag such as jerseys, hats and other memorabilia.

Creative prompt: Don Juan received a giant bonus, this excited him very much. He sees big amounts of money and that’s a amazing thing to him, just the sheer amount of wealth he has gained from playing a game, and let’s be honest here like a headless chicken that only knows how to hit. He is a big force and can throw his weight (and money) around. So onto the purchases, he decides to buy a tiny bit of raspberry’s. Now you may be confused, and I am too. Now next he buys 2 hamsters, while working there he determines the pet smart employee has a irrational fear of hamsters. He offers him a loan with an incredible interest rate and give him the rest of the money, he then tortures him with the hamsters for more money. Then after all is said and done he has made 2.7 million dollars from his original bonus. Nice.

Creative Prompt:

Hell yeah, $750k in the bank! Louise St. Martin is going to save the bulk of it, but she'll budget out how to use it. Some of it will be going to charities to help the less fortunate communities in Switzerland, especially the LGBTQ community as that is something close to her heart. Some of it she'll use on a shopping spree, because she needs new game day flash and pizazz to help hide the fact that her shooting percentage this season was complete and total garbage. Once she's been in the league long enough and becomes the savvy veteran leader instead of the new kid on the block, she wants to use some of her stash of cash to help young players out, since they tend to be on such low wages. While Louise St. Martin does have a true heart of gold and selflessness, she doesn't want to deprive herself of leisure and style!

PLAYER PROMPT: Looking at the season I just had, the different possibilities for bonuses are endless and I’m open to talk about every aspect of my game coming during negotiations. With that in mind, I would try to spread around the things I can get a bonus for in case my performance in one aspect in which I was good this season ended up dropping. I would start with the standard by negotiating a bonus for every goal and every point I get. Then, after ending second for most hits during this season, I would try to negotiate a bonus that includes my physical contribution by link it to the number of hits I got in a season. With the offensive side of the game already cover by bonus for goals and points, I would also include a bonus for my defensive game, because I don’t want them to think I would only focus on my offensive production. With a league leading 10 shorthanded goals this year, I would negotiate a payout that is triggered every time I outscored the other team while we are on the penalty kill and they are on the power play while I’m on the ice.

Well looking at the stats I put up this season compared to the stats I put up in my Rookie season I think a bit of a wage increase would be in order, I doubled the amount of goals I scored, almost doubled the amount of assists I got, got double the points I had, and I had way more hits. I think that's a big increase in my level of play. I also took on the responsibility of being captain, I do really enjoy being the Captain but I think it should have somewhat of a bonus along with a few bonuses for my increase of productivity. Now I'd like to keep the bonus in a reasonable position so that we can save some of the budget to either sign new people or give the bonuses to the current rookies on that team, Five hundred thousand for captaincy and performance based bonuses and give the rest to the boys who do a lot of the hard work!

Player task:

William Salming would love to negotiate about some new bonuses. Of course, they would be related to his value on penalty kill. He had seven short-handed points last season, four goals and three assists. Very impressive stats. He also clocks most PK time among the forwards in the team. That's why his presence is very valuable for Argonauts and GM TIg needs to pay him for that. Salming would like to ask to get bonus of 100k from every successful game without conceded PP goal to the opponent. He would also want 100k per short-handed point. That would be a fair deal in my opinion. Who knows if Tig would accept it as a GM but I guess you can always ask. If Salming don't kill penalties almost three minutes per night, who does it then? Salming also recently upgraded his defensive read from 18 to 19 so he will be even better in PK next year. Something to think about for Seattle's management.

Spack Jarrow wakes up nice and early in the morning, makes some toast. Spreads some butter on it and eats it while drinking a fresh cup of coffee. Suddenly he remembers "The cheque!". Jarrow immediately puts down his cup of java and pulls out his mobile phone. A couple of clicks later and he is checking his bank account balance on his app to see an extra $750,000 in there. "Fuck yeah!" he yells out to his breakfast. He immediately closes the app, brings up his contact list, and calls his bookie 'Frank'. Spack then puts in a $750,000 bet on the Winnipeg Aurora winning the SHL championship this playoffs. Jarrow figures he may as well try and turn a good fortune into a great win fall and if Winnipeg can pull it out that bet should net Spack well over $3 million. Jarrow is pretty sure there aren't any laws against betting on your own team. It should be fine.

CREATIVE PROMPT

Sir Devoir was certainly not expecting the extra 750k, but he will not look a gift horse in the mouth. First thing he decides to use the money for is to finally start to fund this addition to his house that he and his sister Anna have been aiming for: a new outdoor backyard deck. They already had a design drawn down, and just needed the money to hire some people to work on the deck for them because even either psychic abilities, they will not try to do this on thier own. The next thing he did was send some money back to the carnival he was born at, knowing that having more funding for the show couldn't hurt.

His family really appreciated it too, and ended up sending him some old photos of his childhood as a gift. He ended up saving quite a bit of the rest of the money, putting it in the bank for emergencies. However, he also decided to donate to a few charities while he had the money, including one that helps orphan children find a new home.

Player Prompt:

While thinking about the bonuses that Beck will be motivated by next season, lets take a look at the stats:

He was third in team defense scoring with 37 points (first in even strength), first in blocks on the whole team, the second highest hitting defenseman, and sixth in TOI. Marcel needs to elevate his levels of performance for next year. While not necessarily a specialist like a mega-blocker or a scoring menace, Beck will lock down opponents on the defensive end. Beck allowed the least amount of goals against per 60 minutes on the team.

I think his performance based bonuses are this:

First, maybe a TPE bonus. Beck is a max earner and next year is his peak. if he can hit 2112 (in theme) tpe by the end of the season, he should get a cool $1m bonus. Especially since he has been on hometown discount his whole career.
Second, if Beck can hit 40 even strength points, I think it should be another $2m bonus. He was at 32 this season. Only one player this season, Nic Boyle, hit that mark.
Third, if he can keep his PIM under 20, he should get a bonus. Beck has sometimes struggled with that, so keeping his stick in check will be a good goal.
