Player Progression Director certified cool by trips The playoffs are about to start, and that brings us to the second DFA bounty:
You've made it. You're on the list to be drafted into the SMJHL. Some of you have already temporarily joined a team for the remainder of this season to stay in shape and possibly attract more attention from scouts.
Written Task: Write a summary of your scouting profile, highlighting why you you're expected to do well in the upcoming draft (250 word min.)
Graphic Task: Show us the cover photo for your scouting file. Must include your render, name, position and nationality.
Reward: $500,000 for doing one of the above
Only current SMJHL Draftable Free Agents (S68 SMJHL Draftees, SHL class of S69) are eligible for this bounty.
There is no need to claim this anywhere. After grading the money should pop up in your account 'automatically'.
Deadline: Sunday, October 23rd @ 11:59pm PST

Born in Kladno, Czechia, Wonada Jagrs is one of the more interesting prospects for the SMJHL in recent times. The 6'2", 225lbs. forward brings with him a very fine scoring touch, and the ability to set up his teammates to do the same like no other. He's not always the quickest, smartest, or strongest on the ice, but he knows his strengths and exactly how to use them. If a coach would complain about anything from him, it would be his defense, but we have seen time and time again that he can get any goals he lets up back without much issue.
However, Wonada Jagrs does bring a strange asset. Most people who have played against him have said one thing; "he is strangely deceptive to play against". While everyone knows what his production is like, no team is really able to stop it. A video coach in his old league was asked why this could be, and she had this to say; "it's weird, I've done my absolute best to try and put together a plan to stop Jagrs, but it seems like every time we play him, his playstyle changes. I am never able to patch something together. Sometimes, I think it is just straight up a different person playing!" Well, even if this multiple-player theory is true, we should only see one of the Jagrs' drafted this upcoming offseason. The Elk have been guiding him through what to expect with hockey in North America, but many teams have checked in with him, so it'll be interesting to see where this talent winds up. 267 words

Player: Jølñgüštrâädæviñçh DuBølk
Birthplace: Gothenberg, Sweden Height: 6'9'' Weight: 250 lb Position: LD Handedness: Right Scout Notes: DuBølk is a hulking beast for his age. Despite his weight, his skating doesn't suffer, but long-term problems may occur as his professional career develops. No history of physical injury was found, and has never entered concussion protocol. DuBølk plays a two-way game but does play more defensively if the situation calls for it. Can skate down the ice fine, and plays point very well. Shot is nothing special, but it does get the job done. May be best utilized with someone playing in front of the net. Stickhandling is very good and has good reach during poke checks. Hands are deceptively slow: there were multiple times that DuBølk had dodged/blocked a poke check from an opposing player. Mentality in-game can come and go. While he is focused most of the time, there were some moments that were concerning to both the present scouts and the players on the ice, such as when he stopped and stared for approximately 10 seconds during a rush. While this was eventually resolved and DuBølk scored a goal, it may be beneficial to provide support for the mental side of the game. DuBølk was not responsive to questions. Did not seem to talk much, even with his other teammates. Might be hard to adjust a bit to the SMJHL Despite the last name, he has no relation to either Jøln or the recently deceased Jöörgüštrâäd, according to the team's recordkeepers. |
