For those that missed it: last season we hired a new IIHF HoF committee to revive the one we lost in S50 when Bojo Box finally went kaput and we had no way of accessing IIHF career stats easily.
Now, thanks to incredible efforts (as always) of Canadice, we have career stats once again and are ready to induct the next class of Hall of Famers.
This revived committee is made up of the following members:
artermis
Count Chocula (Inductee)
High Stick King
marco999
mer
RashfordU
sköldpaddor
TheSparkyDee
The Method
Using the previous itteration of the IIHF HoF as a basepoint (which used the SHL HoF as its own), this process operated as folows:
In order to induct more players as we play historical catch-up, there are two ballots: one for forwards, and one for defence and goaltenders. In addition, players are eligible the season after they retire and remain eligible for 10 seasons.
Each Committee Member can vote for a maximum of five (5) players to be inducted.
These players are ranked 1-5, and given points relative to their ranking (10, then 7, 5, 3, and 1) of which a player needs 35 points to be inducted.
A change made for this season, however, realizing that point limit seems to be made for a committee of 10 members, we have applied a multiplier of 1.25 to all vote totals, to represent our smaller committee of 8 members.
Players who had retired prior to the opening of the IIHF HoF in S49 had 8 seasons of elligiblity remaining prior to this voting session, while those who retired in-between the first and second IIHF HoF ceremonies had 9 seasons left.
The Ceremony
Starting tomorrow, every day I'll announce one inductee from this year's class.
I've never been the best at writing, but I hope to bestow on you some historical facts as we induct international legend, an honor long overdue for many.
In the future, we hope to get closer with the events team and make these more professional, for now though the show most go on, so see you tomorrow for our first inductee who also turns out to be the first unanimous first place inductee in IIHF HoF history.

The successor to Kristian Eriksson and with a remarkable likeness in terms of statistical success to Finland's Esa Anrikkanen, Ola Wagstrom is the greatest goal-scorer in IIHF history with a 14 goal lead on 2nd place, and with a n equal amount of assists to boot, this brings Ola to 4th all-time in points.
It has been said that the offensive forward may be over-valued, and while this may be true, Wagstrom's dominance in the statistical leaderboards, assortment of medals and two Top Forward awards round out their bid to something that truly represents that of a hall-of-famer, if the voting didn't show that much in the opinions of the committee.

You had to guess that at least one player from the historic Irish dynasty makes it into the HoF, it's only fitting that it's one of the founding fathers of Ireland.
Ireland, a federation that has historically struggled, saw one fantastic goalie in Olli O'Koivu, replaced with another in Biscuit, and in Biscuit's first full season, they won their first of five consecutive golds. Beaujeaux dominated in net in a record-breaking run for Ireland and as a result won a ridiculous 65% of his total round robin games.
One of the few players with three Top Goalie awards, and the only with such a dominating record, both in the round robin and medal round. Beaujeaux makes two for two this year in easy inductions.
Congratulations @.bojo , if you wanted a seat on the committee, you're more than welcome.

Not too far behind Ola Wagstrom on nearly everyone's ballot, was the two-way defenceman turned two-way forward Tony Pepperoni.
Perhaps the greatest two-way forward in IIHF history and with an international career nearly as long as Anrikkanen, Peperoni wasted no time building a Hall of Fame bid with 20 full seasons played and an astounding 248 games played. Offensively capable with 134 points in those games, Tony punctuates a two-way style of play expected of someone who changed position with 303 hits and 105 blocked shots.
With an iron man career, beginning to play in full tournament in just the second season after creation, Tony finds themselves 6th in all-time goals, the leader in both assists and points, and with the third most shots ever taken on the international stage.
With such staggering career figures, Pepperoni continues the trend of easy inductees on this years Hall of Fame ceremony.
Congratulations @Sean , you are invited to join the committee if you wish to accept.

No other player this year was able to confuse the committee as much Rex Kirkby, appearing on 3 forward ballots and 2 defence ballots.
As the only player with both positional skater awards, things are already exceptional, but then you add in the statistical accomplishments in the shape of high-scoring seasons at both defence and forward, over 200 games, 184 points, and with a large helping of hits and blocked shots to boot, and you've got an incredible player. But wait, there's more: a medal haul worthy of a hall of famer playing on the most successful stints a team has ever had in IIHF history.
Kirkby may not be the last inductee from those Great britain teams of the S40's and S50's, but Kirkby is certainly the most incredible.
Congratulations @Acsolap , if you'd like to join the committee, you are welcome to.

It is only fitting that we induct Darrow the same year as Pepperoni.
Our final inductee of the season is one of the premier faces of Germany in it's latest iteration. One of the few defenceman to have won the Top Defender award twice in their career, Darrow also brought longevity, 100 assists, 325 hits, and enough blocked shots to make any sane person wince (second most in IIHF history, in fact), to round out another Hall of Fame bid chosen with ease by the committee.
Congratulations @hhh81 , you are the last to receive an invitation to join the committee this season.
One of the greatest defenceman in IIHF history caps off our inductees this season, being just the fourth true defender to enter the Hall.
The remainder of the players who received votes are as follows:
