Good evening y'all!

A delayed transmission coming in from Charlotte, as if the timeline that holds all time and space together was briefly warped, as the Carolina Kraken have announced the roster's elected leadership group for the S68 season.

Carolina has many weird quirks.

Some in personality, some in environment, some brought on by myself in organization. One of those is the recognition that Carolina is a place of deep community, camaraderie, and leadership up and down the list of online users in Discord. The list of people we have to draw council from is long, the number of people on the roster who step up on a weekly basis to support their friends online and in real life is incredible. This is great, and it also means that I want to specifically allow for fluid leadership positions when considering who's marked as a current leader on this team. I would bet real money that over half this roster will wear a letter in their time at the SHL level, and the leadership core is so much deeper than the three names at the top of the list - every eligible user was voted for at least once and half the roster was within two votes of each other.

One of the most serendipitous timelines imaginable, in Season 56 I took a late round dart through and by chance the user came back to the site. They became an anchor of the locker room, literally spit in death's face to come back to us, and has made a massive impact on the team and the league in his two years around the SHL. He's spent more seasons on the Carolina roster than I can count at this point, and he's gone from someone we rallied around to someone we rally behind. Congratulations,

Our captain for S68 is the only returning letter wearer from last season, and needs no deep introduction. He continues to be one of the people that defines the SHL for so many. He's thrived in his time back in the SMJHL and since donning the letter this past season has only maintained the course. Thank you all for continuing to put your faith in me. I am incredibly honored to return as Captain. Like I said last season, I will continue to do my best for the team.

There are a few things I would like to address heading into S68.

1a. Fuck the penalties! As always.

2. I'm very proud of all the work my fellow squids have put in over the past few seasons. This locker room is filled with awesome people. Let's show this league what we can do!
