Seamus does what he does every year. Goes back to his hometown in Ireland to oversee his flourishing bar and beer business. Theres only so much he can do each year remotely while also gearing up to win a cup. Many people say that it is a heavy burden for this young defensemen but he is used to carrying teams on his back so why not a business? While he is at home he invited everyone in town over for some brews and music and makes it a big festival. People usually ask about his year in the states and what his plans are for the franchise that is starting to employ more and more people. Really Seamus is working on his fame so that it brings in more tourists and revenue. Most people will be excited that he was close to leading defensive players in the league and that will give Seamus a lot to talk about. But don't expect him to give away franchise secrets that will lead to their first cup in a while soon.

For christmas time, Filip Lund decided to go back to Norway for 10 days, to celebrate the holydays, and spend some good time with his old friends, and family. For the occasion, all family members were invited to one of Filip's father restaurant close for christmas. It was the first time since last year SMJHL draft, that Lund came back to his home country, and having the chance to finally celebrate with his love ones, gave him a moral boost that he didnt know he needed until then. Between christmas and new year eve, the town of Oslo held a ice hockey tournament on Møslo lake for anybody to join. Lund was approched by the mayor to be the honor guest of this tournament. It was a very fun time, and seing kids skate on the ice remembered him were it all started for him, and maaybe right now, he was looking at a futur superstar of the SHL who know. He closed the tournament by signing some autographs, and answering as many questions as he could.

Before anything, Derek Martin will take time to rest, ice bath, listen to music, cook decent meals with friends and teammates in preparation for round 2 of the SMJHL Playoffs. Its important not to lose track of what’s right in front of you by projecting yourself too far in the future. Despite this, he historically likes to wind down for a week or two at the family cottage up north in the Laurentides region of Quebec, after which he get’s to training off-ice with some local personal trainers he trusts. Odd in their ways, the do special types of trainings, rumours go even in the sense that wild boars are involved. In what capacity, who knows! Training goes on for most of the summer, but Martin still finds it important to take some time as camp nears to get back down to Carolina, to start getting into a routine once more so that when the season starts, he can hit the ground running!

Alexis Texas spends the holidays tending to their other favourite place, the fire. The Texas home in Regina, Saskatchewan has a fireplace in the kitchen the size or a hockey net, and Alexis finds that the warmth of a crackling fire can light up a room in the cold winter holidays. The key is to start with a solid base, often a hard red maple wood log, and then to apply softer woods like the Manitoba Maple on top to bring the flame's to life. Everyone appreciates the warmth of a fire, and so my player makes sure to keep the fireplace going when company arrives for Christmas. The usual suspects on Christmas Day include members of the Regina Elk major junior hockey team, family member from back home in Northern Ireland, and my old friend Johnny Sins (a S46 player who most recently played for the Tampa Bay Barracuda in the SHL).

PLAYER PROMPT Written Task: As a Ukrainian Christmas time is the most important time of the year for Mats Marner. He actually has two Christmases. One is on December, 25, which is English Catholic Christmas, and another one is on January, 7, which is the Ukrainian Orthodox Christmas. There are many traditions associated with Christmas, but the most important rituals that Ukrainians follow regularly are Christmas dinner and Christmas caroling. The Ukrainian Christmas celebration begins on Christmas Eve. Family members cook Christmas dinner consisting of 12 dishes that symbolize 12 apostles. The main dish at the festive table is kutia – a mix of boiled grains, honey, nuts, poppy seeds, dried fruits, and other toppings. This dish is usually eaten first. Other dishes present at the Christmas table might include mushrooms, dumplings, fish, perogies, beet soup, cabbage rolls, potatoes, etc. The next morning after Christmas Eve is Christmas day where Ukrainians like Marner go to church and visit their relatives. Another ancient custom is Christmas caroling or Koliada. During Koliada, people visit neighbors, relatives, and friends singing traditional songs and giving the families best wishes. In return, hosts give Koliada participants presents such as sweets, food and alcohol.

It's finally the end of the year, which is when most people would take a break. Unfortunately you don't get to keep the title of "Best Sven" if you take breaks, so Sven Svechnikov is busy working on perfecting his craft after falling short in the Challenge Cup finals last season. No one expected the Manhattan Rage to make it as far as they did last season, but to be so close and fall short stings more than an early exit. The age is starting to wearing on Sven's bones and he knows that he is approaching the end of his career in the SHL, so he has been in talks with an experimental process to prolong his athletic peak with undisclosed doctors. It will be a few more years until it's ready, but between those meetings and working tirelessly to actually hit the net on his slapshots from the blue line, Sven's holiday period is just as busy as any week in the regular season.

Player Prompt: Lias's holiday plans kind of depend on what Conner is doing for the holiday break, because he wants to spend it together. If Conner doesn't have any plans with his own family, Lias wants to have Conner come home to Sweden with him to spend it with his moms and sister. If Conner does want to be with his own family, Lias is happy to go back to his own family by himself, or even go along with Conner to spend this year's holiday season with Conner's family in Wales or on his sister's boat or whatever. The dream, though, would be to pick a central location and have both families meet together for one big shindig. What's in between Gotland and Wales? Hamburg or Berlin or somewhere else in Germany there, and they can get rent a giant house where both families can chill and spend time together and maybe go do some fun winter activities like ice skating, because Conner and Lias don't get enough of that during the year.

This year was pretty good overall. Kids keep growing up, the youngest going from crawling to walking and is now starting to talk all the time. He really knows how to get what he wants. The older two twins keep getting bigger and are enjoying more activities, which keeps me quite busy. Had a great Disneyland trip this month, and the girls loved to see all the characters and the parade. It is always a joy to see the smiles on their faces. Had a few trips back to where I grew up for some family weddings, and it is always great to see everyone and have our kids meet and play with their cousins. Next year I am looking forward to the twins started TK, which is public school so that is all paid for (I mean with my taxes anyway) so will save a bit more money compared to preschool. Although with more activities the money just gets put right back into their betterment anyway. All said should be another exciting year where I get less sleep but my kids have more fun.

Player Prompt

Louise St. Martin, much like user Valpix, does not believe in the concept of time, so New Year's really isn't a holiday she cares about too much. That said, she does celebrate the holiday of Yule (the pagan holiday, not the synonym for Christmas) with her close friends back in Switzerland, but this season she cannot return home because she is too busy trying to win the Challenge Cup with the North Stars. She still plans on doing her holiday rituals and stuff, and having her delayed celebration back home. It's just being put on a delay until the break between the SHL playoffs and the IIHF tournament (which will likely be taking her back to Europe). She's excited this year because she has seen her play improve as this season has gone on, and she'll be even more excited if the North Stars can reach the mountaintop - and she has every belief that they can.

User Prompt
2022 in a way was a bit boring for me but honestly that suits me just fine. I'm working in the same job (that I do like) in the same apartment with thankfully the same wife and cats. With so much hardship and chaos going around, keeping a status quo these days is is blessing itself. I've also spent all of 2022 with my SHL family and have met many people who I can call me friends. Thankfully none of my or my wife's family members passed and everyone seems to be doing well. In 2023 the first big thing is me and my wife are going on a trip to India to visit some of her family, already more exciting than 2022. Other than that who knows what the year has in store for us, hopefully all good obviously. Maybe one of these years we'll buy a house or travel even more while we're still young. I'm personally looking forward to it, happy holidays everyone Smile

Philip Fry will be spending the upcoming holidays with family & friends hanging out at his old job at Planet Express. He will catch up with his 12 times great nephew Hubert Farnsworth for whom he used to work for as a delivery boy for Planet Express delivery. He will get into some trouble with his old best pal Bender Bending Rodriguez. Whether it be killing all humans or competing in the little miss New New York tap dance competition there is no short of fun activities for this duo. They may be bad for society but they're great for each other. He will of course spend the majority of his time with his one true love, Leela. The spend some time with her family down in the sewers with all of the mutants. They will travel the world(s) and catch up with their old friends and of course they will reminisce and plan for the Future(ama).
