Hello All!

We have come to the conclusion of the S68 World Junior Championship Tournament! Although there were some bumps along the way, I would say it was a success!

Congratulations to DACH on their FOURTH CONSECUTIVE World Junior Championship title. It is a very prestigious honor and you should all be proud. Congratulations to UCORCAL and Canada as well on Silver and Bronze, respectively! There were some surprises and upsets along the way as well as some fun performances from a number of teams! We will be continuing the tradition we started last season and listing the top nominees for each award (instead of just announcing winners)! All nominees are listed in alphabetical order.

I will be hosting the awards show tonight - right before the S68 SMJHL Awards show - on the WJC YouTube Channel!

~6:00pm EST~

The Brady McIntyre Award is the most prestigious: it is the award for tournament MVP. Last year's winner was Meta Knight (DACH). The top three nominees for this year are:

August Von Hecht (DACH) @CptSquall WINNER
Dominik Froste (DACH) @Froste39
Julian Eaglesong (DACH) @MN_Moosey

Spotlight Award

In addition, we dedicate one award to a user that has gone above and beyond during the tournament. This award is called the Spotlight Award and is voted on by all WJC nations and the Head Office. This award is given to an individual who is dedicated to the tournament and displayed outstanding drive and passion for the WJC. The winner of this award has given a lot of their time to the success of the tournament. This year's nominees are:

-@_Blitz_ and @SDCore (WJC Emergency Simmers) WINNER

This year's tournament could not have happened without these two individuals. Without a hired simmer, Blitz and Corey took it upon themselves to pull this tournament to the finish line.

- @Randominoe (UCORCAL GM)

Randominoe brought extreme enthusiasm to the UCORCAL locker room. With regular team locker room updates and a great attitude, Randominoe was able to make the tournament a fun experience for his players. Not only did he lead them in the locker room, he led them to victory most games. His performance as a leader and GM were outstanding.

@Serpe x 13 (WJC File Worker)

Serpe continually flies under the radar for the work he does every season for the WJC Tournament. Similar to simming, the tournament would not happen if it were not for Serpe creating and updating the file at the beginning of each season.

I would also personally like to shoutout my special thanks to the IIHF Head Office and all the WJC GMs for their help during this tournament. Please join us later as we reveal the winners!

Proud to be nominated once again for the spotlight award but my dedication was nothing in comparison to the file workers and emergency simmers who absolutely deserve the spotlight.
