The offseason is closing in on us, and we are almost at the SMJHL Draft.

Before the real busy season starts, and you're going to be answering scouting messages from every team, it is time to sit back and relax a little. Dreaming about how your life would've looked without hockey.

Written Task: What would your player be doing now, if he or she hadn't pursued a career in hockey? (250 word min.)

Graphic Task: Show us a picture of your player, doing what they'd do if they weren't a hockey player.

Reward: $500,000 for doing one of the above

Only current SMJHL Draftable Free Agents (S70 SMJHL Draftees, SHL class of S71) are eligible for this bounty.

There is no need to claim this anywhere. After grading the money should pop up in your account 'automatically'.

Of course long ago when Chicken was still young hockey was not the only sport he pursued. When Chicken was still a young chicken he tried a multitude of sports, in the end he wasn’t good enough at jumping for basketball, not strong enough for fighting sports, didn’t have the required arm strength/precision for a sport like tennis or baseball, and if you have ever seen chicken legs you would also understand why chicken couldn’t pursue a career in soccer. Chicken was thinking of going into American Football for a bit but quickly found out that the hollow bird bones weren’t strong enough in the most catastrophic of ways. On the positive side this arm break and the failure of bone healing did cause the bones to be put in the correct way to (barely) use a hockey stick. For a bit Chicken also tried some of the running sports but he wasn’t fast enough for sprints, and didn’t have the attention span for long-distance running. But one thing Chicken did have in most of those sports was a lot of attention for the strange appearance of a gigantic humanoid Chicken running across the field. If Ice Hockey didn’t work out it would most likely be a career as a mascot for some team, I mean he didn’t need a mascot costume if he found a team with a Chicken as their animal, and who could play a chicken better than a chicken. He could already see himself standing on the field before the matches riling up the supporters in cheer to hopefully make that the extra drive for the team to win.
