S70 PT#3: Let Ampersands and At-signs Fly
#1

Please pick ONE prompt to write about. Do not mix and match prompts. Identify the prompt you are using in your submission - Copying and pasting the prompt will deduct from your word count so if you do this make sure YOUR submission is 150+ words excluding the prompt.

Please note that this year's "Story Mode" description does NOT mean that you must tie the PTs together in order to receive TPE! You are also NOT committed to one prompt chain - feel free to hop between them from week to week!

CREATIVE PROMPT / STORY MODE - The personality conflict between your player and the unpleasant person in your org has come to the attention of your head coach (if your head coach is the one you have issues with, it's the AGM.) He wants to smooth things over.

Written Task: What do you want to hear, or see, done differently? What are you willing to do differently? What's your plan for working together with a person you don't like all that much in pursuit of the common goal of the Cup? Are emotions running hot? How so, and what does that sound like? (150+ words)

Graphic Task: Show me your player having a heart-to-heart with someone in your org's higher staff!

PLAYER PROMPT - How does your player handle personality conflicts with teammates?

REMINDER THAT MALICIOUS RESPONSES WILL NOT BE GRADED. USE FICTIONAL ENTITIES ONLY. THIS IS NOT A THUNDERDOME; DO NOT PUT OTHER USERS ON BLAST.

Written Task:  Tell me about your player's reaction to a teammate or staff member rubbing them the wrong way at some point in their career. What was done to annoy them? How did they respond? Were they able to work past it? Did it devolve into an irretrievable shitshow? Whose fault was it? Who was the bigger person in the end? (150+ words)

Graphic Task: Show me your player having a strenuous disagreement with someone else in you org!

You will receive 3 TPE for fulfilling all requirements.

All responses are due on Sunday, April 16th at 11:59 PST. NOTE: IF YOU SUBMIT/EDIT AFTER THE DEADLINE YOU WILL RECEIVE REDUCED/NO TPE.

Affiliate claims from either PBE or ISFL or WSLB or SSL are accepted; link directly to your post and note if your username is different there.

Written Task:
Sydney Shaw is typically a very lovable person, as long as you respect her. There was this one team mate on her collage team though, Betty Boop. Betty knew just how to hit all of syds buttons. It was made worse by the fact that Betty was often Syds Defensive pairing, meaning even on ice they had to be close together. Many thought they were good friends because staff would always pair them together on road trips in the same room. Betty snored on top of being rude and inconsiderate. Overall Betty was just annoying, right down to her high pitched voice. Sydney tried so hard to ignore her, knowing the draft was soon and this could be the end. However she was at her breaking point. One day on a bus ride home from a defeating loss, Betty made a comment about how Sydney would go undrafted (not like she was even invited to the draft). This broke Syd, she stood up on that bus and laid into Betty about being rude. They never did work past their issues, but now Sydney is on a great minors team and Betty is a waitress. Dont let someone walk all over you for that long, but also dont yell at them. 210 words

second prompt:
Lias had the experience of playing with M'Baku Olubori for a short while in Nevada (M'Baku signed with Nevada as a DFA, but was then drafted by another team). This was one of the most difficult (but also educational) experiences of Lias's career, because the two of them definitely got off on the wrong foot, antagonizing one another on social media, and generally engaging in a rivalry that was much better suited for people on different teams than people trying to cooperate for a common goal. However, M'Baku, whose home country is not represented in IIHF, eventually transferred to play for Sweden, and Lias found himself teammates with his former rival once again. In that time, they've both done a lot of growing, and have developed a mutual respect for one another that one might even begin to refer to as a friendship. Lias has matured a lot as a person over the past few years, and he has grown beyond being wildly jealous of M'Baku's natural talent at stuff Lias has to work hard to accomplish due to his smaller stature.

CREATIVE/STORY

Walton Stromberg has been having issues with team's color commentator, Walton Strongberg. He is a grumpy old man with a vendetta against Stromberg. The team's head coach heard about this, and wanted to invite both Waltons to his house for a dinner to talk things over. The HC was worried that this becomes a big story, and something that damages the team's reputation in the hockey media field. The head coach, not so surprisingly, took Stromberg's side and tried to convine Strongberg that he's a good guy, great player and someone who wants nothing bad to anyone, let alone Strongberg. Walton (Stromberg) was nodding along, hoping this will be it and he can just forget about the whole thing.

But Strongberg was not buying it. Seemed that he had just accepted the invitation the get a free meal, and the HC started to sense it too. Strongberg was not listening at all, and it was evident that he's not ready to bury the hatchet. The night ended with HC and Stromberg together throwing Strongberg out of the house, and now there's probably two guys in the team who he hates.

Creative Prompt

After the massive media frenzy had started to settle down after Cale and Barca made their announcements. The GM and Coaches of the Forge decided it best to bring them both in for a sit down and meet about what was the next step for them and the team. After some pretty positive talks it was decided that The Forge would host a pride night in honor of the two. It decided they would also make a sizeable donation and start to participate in the Pride Parades. As for things closer to the team the two got permission to share a hotel room while on their road trips. The GM’s and Coaches also agreed on a how they would address the media moving forward to ensure there would be no conflicts internally or externally from anyone. Overall Cale and Barca were very happy with how the conversation went as part of the reason they had hid this for so long was do to unpredictability of teams and medias reactions. Here is to the brighter future!

Dirty Boots is generally not a fan of conflict. At all. He'll do his best to step in and cool things down between teammates but tries to avoid getting in the middle of it. When things cool down Boots does his best to talk and understand why emotions may be running hot and ways they can be resolved. The sooner we can stop hating each other the sooner we can have a better time working together and being a stronger team. Boots will often try and take teammates out and get to know them better outside of the team so he can get to know them on more of a personal level. They're not just teammates, they're friends, and Boots will do whatever he can to help them whether it's on or off the ice. It's easier said than done though, some people live for drama or have a short fuse and you can't change that, but you can learn more about that person to find ways to calm them down or to reason with them to avoid starting drama.

Ace Lightning played junior hockey for the Chicago Crush in some sort of Junior A team, and he never got along with the equipment manager. Well, the equipment manager hated him, and that is because Ace was very specific about the temperature in which his gloves were (35 degrees fahrenheit). One day, when he received his gloves, they were in the 40's and Lightning had a brutal game, only scoring 4 goals in an 8-7 loss. Chicago was high flying but their defense was awful. Anyways, when Lightning came off the ice, he laid into the equipment manager and was not very nice to him. The equipment manager shook it off, but the next game, the gloves were too cold. A nightmare for the superstar. Unfortunately, Ace just couldn't work past it, and demanded that the equipment manager be fired. He was not, and in fact, Lightning was cut and that is how he ended up in the SMJHL. He was 100% at fault and deserved it. The equipment manager is such a nice guy. (178)

Clint Clampton is not only a valuable player on the ice but also an expert in conflict resolution. His ability to smooth out conflicts has become a valuable asset to the organization, helping to maintain a positive team culture and ensuring that everyone is working towards the same goals. Now very rarely are there conflicts in the Yukon lockerroom or among their players, but Clint has a calm and level-headed approach to resolving conflicts. He listens carefully to all sides and takes the time to understand each person's perspective. He works to find common ground and solutions that everyone can agree on. His approach helps to build trust and respect between team members, which in turn fosters a positive and supportive team environment. Overall, Clint Clampton's ability to smooth out conflicts within the SHL and the Yukon Malamutes is a vital component of the team's success. His leadership and communication skills are instrumental in creating a positive team culture that allows everyone to work towards a common goal.

As Chicago's Co-GM @SchwarzNarr pulls in Ben Jammin and Rasmus Bergling into the office to work things out between the two players. She's seen how they both are avoiding each other during team practices and would never pass to each other if they're out on the ice together during a game. It has been apparent since day 1 of training camp this season that they both have animosity towards one another and she wants to put an end to this. Ben Jammin is entering his prime years as a blueliner and Rasmus Bergling is just starting out his SHL career. If they both can get on the same page, then Chicago's defence will be a formidable force that opposing teams will have a tough time to get past.

To work things out between the two, they both share what makes them hostile towards one another. Ben doesn't like how Rasmus is stepping down from the GM spot to focus on playing hockey, I mean if Schwarz can do it why can't you? Rasmus doesn't like how Ben keeps making it open that he wants at least a $50M contract when talking to his teammates. After sharing these pieces of info, the two embrace and will put these issues behind them... hopefully!
