Hello SHL,

As was brought up in the S69 mini State of the Union, we've been working behind the scenes on reworking the Fantasy TPE distribution. This discussion stemmed from an important amount of users bringing this up over multiple seasons as being something to look at. The main basis for the argument is the randomness of the TPE allocation, which in turn makes Fantasy unrewarding and frustrating to a non-negligible amount of users.

Given the RNG nature of FHM and how despite similar circumstances two seasons can go awfully different, its been expressed by users that any planning for Fantasy drafts is inhibited by a certain luck factor, or RNG. Furthermore, there is the argument of the TPE rewards to be excessively high given said luck factor/RNG, while also placing a big majority of participants out of the TPE ranks for reasons that may go from user error, but too much of it can come down to the aforementioned nature of FHM.

With that in mind, HO set out to create a new distribution bracket which would reduce the max amount of TPE earning, whilst also enabling more users to gain TPE. The current format went as follows:

10/5/3/1 TPE rewards for placing 1st-4th in your respective groups
Global podium awarding 4 mil for 1st, 2 mil for 2nd and 1 mil for 3rd
Global participation bonus for everyone who completed their draft of 1 mil

We went back and forth between different options, weighing out the amount of users receiving TPE, the net difference in average TPE gains, coming up with a system that rewards more participation all the while mitigating the RNG effects. This included re-working both group gains and global gains. In the end, more people get TPE, and cumulative user TPE gains are higher than using the old system.

With that in mind, here is how fantasy rewards will be, starting this coming season:

GLOBAL FANTASY PAYOUT

100-87.5% -> 3 tpe + $1m participation
87.4-75% -> 2 TPE + $1m participation
74.9-62.5% -> 1 TPE + $1m participation
62.4-50% -> $1m bonus + $1m participation
<50% -> $1m participation

GROUP FANTASY PAYOUT

1st place - 5 TPE
2nd place - 4 TPE
3rd place - 3 TPE
4th place - 2 TPE

Seeing as this is a quite significant change, all parties involved will be tracking them to see how they roll out. We feel confident that this strikes a good balance to enable positive engagement and a rewarding experience where RNG has less impact. tl;dr - Fantasy TPE now also depends on how good you are overall, instead of just how lucky or unlucky you got with group assignment. You can decide if you like that or not Laughing

Basically, if you rank in the top 12,5% of users participating in fantasy, you get an extra 3 TPE, 12,6-25% top = 2 TPE, 25,1-37,5 = 1 TPE and 37,6-50 = extra 1 mil on top of the 1 mil participation prize!

So since 1 million SHL dollarydoos equates to 5 TPE, doesnt that mean that finishing in the 62.4-50% range is technically the best way to max TPE unless your bank is already loaded?

Good change, 10 TPE was always too high and made people people feel like it was impossible to max earn. 8 isn't much lower but at least you can get 7 instead of 5 from being top 10 but still second in your group.

ah ok that make more sense for my dumbi brain reading it like this, thank you, at first i though it was just general participation since that was what the money was tying on it first lmao so i was like i better hope we dont need 100% of the forum participating

It's a percentage of fantasy participants ranked by performance. Basically it splits global into 8 clumps (just like how groups have 8 people) and rewards participants based on which global clump they fall in.
