Having arrived in a bit of a rush, Sunrise was rather pleased to find himself at the facilities early without much of a fuss. He was able to greet his teammates eventually and seemed to not show much in the way of homesickness, something some specialists would expect out of a rookie to this side of the world but the Dutchman seemed to take it in impressive stride. When asked about it, Sunrise replied with a blunt "I have lived away from my hometown before, Schubbekutteveen is nice and all but I know how it is outside of it too" before adding some more tempered comments about how it was really all about perspective and how he was very much keen on seeing how things were in the United States plus the possibility of playing the best youths in the continent were at least somewhat exciting to talk about. The world isn't quite his oyster yet but Sunrise's happy to be here.

When Zedward walked into the locker room, it was the strangest thing. The Detroit Falcons squad looked him up and down, circled around him, and examined him closely. They inspected him from his head to his toes to his large, bushy mustache that definitely wasn't glued on. The squad glanced over at a poster on the wall that said S53 Four Star Cup Champions. On the poster had former center Edward Williams' large face plastered right in the center. The squad looked at the poster and back at Zedward. They clearly wanted to be kind and thoughtful, but they also wanted to speak up because something seemed off. What came out were a bunch of mumbles.

After that awkward introduction, Zedward felt very acclimated with the squad. He was getting along well with fellow draftee, The. Overall, Zedward felt very pleased with the squad on the first day of meeting them. He thought it looked like a real group of winners.

Rocky had come into hockey with almost no expectations– and it's surreal how things turned out. He'd been chatting with a few guys pre-draft that he was hoping to head to the same place with, but nothing's guaranteed in hockey. He doesn't mind; he'll keep in contact. The Kelowna locker room is massive compared to his old league back in Nebraska. There's plates with everyone's name and number and everyone's gear is already provided instead of half self-bought and half rink-loaned. What really sets it in is another firm handshake from the GM. He's playing here, in this beautiful city, next to the waterfront. It's a long way from landlocked, corn-ridden Nebraska. He didn't want a party or anything, and he's glad everyone here is lowkey enough that he can settle in quietly. There's a few conversations back and forth between the team about this and that and life, really. There's no judgment from anyone, which is way better than Nebraska too, where people are generally set in their ways. Just from overhearing the chatter, he feels pretty damn good about this new endeavor.

As Sean Bird, the rookie shutdown defenseman from Dallas, cautiously entered the Berserkers' locker room for the first time, a mixture of awe and uncertainty enveloped him. It felt like stepping into a new universe, but one thing was clear—his teammates were a friendly bunch, welcoming him with open arms and genuine smiles.

Being new to the league, he felt like a wide-eyed explorer in uncharted territory, navigating through a labyrinth of threads. He had yet to decipher the inside jokes and routines that bonded everyone together, but he enjoyed seeing the camaraderie that had led the Berserkers to their Four Star Cup victory. He knew he had been handed a remarkable opportunity, but also a responsibility to learn the ropes and adapt to the league.

Sean embraced the challenge ahead, ready to soak up knowledge like a thirsty sponge and prove himself worthy of his spot alongside the defending champions.

Billy Hill enters the locker room after a complete shocker of a pick by the Great Lakes Grizzlies. Unsure about what to say or do, Billy is greeted by GM Gibbles and CoGM Rankle who are excited to get an eye on their new shot in the dark left defender.

The GMs had a speech prepared for all the new additions, but there was a visible sense of imposter syndrome on the faces of some newly drafted players. The looming question is a resounding "can I fill those shoes?" Replacing nearly the entirety of a team's defensive structure can be a tough ask. The GMs are convinced they made the right call, the veterans are eager to help out in getting the fresh draftees up to snuff, all we can do is wait and see. A few locker assignments and pleasantries later, training has begun for the Year of the Grizz.

with my only J experience being on a dynasty in Newfoundland, new jeff is back and anxious for a new challenge. however, entering QCC wasn't an entirely new journey, as many people i already knew were there ready to congratulate my and my fellow rooks for being drafted to the best team in the J. the GMs knew to keep it light and cool, leaving us to meet everyone in the locker room and get acclimated before getting to the contract negotiations and deeper conversations that occur with the birth of a promising career. QCC proved to be just as welcoming and full of life as jeff remembered Newfoundland, but jeff is avoiding making comparisons and rather enjoying the new faces to meet, new minds to pick, new teammates to play with, and a new team to play for. it may feel weird at first wearing the white and blue, but it already feels like home. Lodge was no stranger to the Timber locker room having joined the team as a DFA before their run to the Four Star Cup finals. However, this time was different as the team had just spent their first round draft pick on him and he was here to stay. Having played well in the limited opportunities he had been given the season prior, his teammates were thrilled to have him back. Lodge, the quiet young man that he is, took it all in stride. He briefly thanked the team before making his way to his locker. He instantly got to work getting himself ready for practice, making sure that he was the first one on the ice. Lodge was extremely thankful to the Maine Timber organization for giving him this opportunity and was going to do everything in his power to pay it back to them. The long road to greatness was ahead of him and he was ready to take it one step at a time.

Being drafted by the St. Louis scarecrows, and having your name called at 18th, overall in the recent draft is quite an amazing memory. You really don’t think it can get any better than that anything to yourself once those moments happen, but this is it. That is it! But wait, there’s more! The moment you walk into that locker room, that’s when it really feels real before actually, stepping onto the ice and getting ready for a game. You walk into the dressing room and your names up there on your locker stall, your jerseys, hanging there with your name, pressed on the back and the boys are there to welcome you home.

“ it was amazing experience walking into that locker room for the first time ever”, said König Wolf. “ The whole team and coaching staff was there and everybody welcome to me very well. I am still not 100% with my English, but had a lot of fun”

It was rumoured that the St. Louis scarecrows put on quite the welcome party. This makes a lot of sense considering the team had a very successful draft, and we think the future is very bright. Why not celebrate the new players coming in with the old players that they’re looking to build with? This team is going to be really good and how they welcome their players into the locker room speaks a lot about the team.

As pick 28th of the S71 SMJHL draft, Beau Kavanagh walked into the GM office of the Great Falls Grizzlies, he was greeted by GM SpartanGibbles and Co-GM Rankle. The phrases "welcome home", "the future goaltender of this organization" and "four star cup bound" were used frequently excited by their success in the most recent draft. Kavanagh would be an invaluable piece for building the foundation of success for seasons to come.

Kavanagh was then escorted to the Great Falls locker room where he would meet his teammates as they were just about to take the ice for morning practice. He was greeted with open arms and accepted into the inner circle of this close-knit team. "We're glad to have you here and hope your future is as bright as your brother, Cillian" shouted star right winger Kyle Latreille. "Those legs look small bud" said left d-man Pork Tenderloin. Beau with a smile on his face sat in his stall, waited for a minute before suiting up for practice and thought.. "I'm home".

When Austin Morley walked into the Regina Elk locker room for the first time there was indeed a spectacle to be had. However, the commotion wasn’t for him. Elk first round draft selection Rowan O’Beirne was the hype of the locker room. O’Beirne was a highly touted prospect who many believed could have gone first overall in the SMJHK draft, and it was clear that the Elk locker room were estatic to bring him on. The Elk veterans and management team swarmed him like paparazzi to Taylor Swift, and when Morley entered the room, he was lucky to get a head nod of acknowledgement. That was okay, though. Morley was happy enough just being here, taking in the sights and sounds of the locker room. Austin searched for his locker, and at first wasn’t able to find it. After a moment, though, he realized where it would be. As he tried to navigate past the spillage of people in front of O’Berine’s locker, Morley found his right next door. Rookie Centers, side by side. As Morley looked up and saw his nameplate above his locker, he said to himself “This’ll do”

After landing in Raleigh, and taking a taxi to the team's arena Westley finds himself in the Carolina Kraken locker room. The atmosphere is light and jovial. With teammates making jokes with the new draftees and everyone showing off pictures of their pets back home. When Westley sees his locker he's struck with awe and joy. Back home the lockers were just a spot to sit and put on your hand-me-down jersey from the guy that had your number before you. Here his name is above the locker and is filled with a brand new Orange and Black sweater waiting for him to toss it on. As the group settled down, everyone started talking tactics and the GMs and coaches came in to talk with the draftees about where they feel they need to improve to keep up in SMJHL. By the end of the day Westley went to his room at the team hotel and went to bed, it was gonna be a great season. Kraken

Lazer Gato had a bit of an issue arriving at the Kraken facilities. Despite being a cat the airline caused a fuss about the carry on pet policy. Nevertheless he arrived just on time at the team Locker Room along with his fellow rookie teammates Westley Kirkpatrick, Bjorn Arneson, Rony Mcdoudelberg, and Sam Del Vescovo! Kraken General Managers Se7ven & Frenchie had already prepared customized jerseys and had our rookie contracts ready to go. The Kraken don't slack though, after a brief welcome and introduction we were quick to hit the ice for our first team practice. After a grueling practice of shooting routines and puck handling drills the team rounded up to go to the local pub for a round of beers and team bonding! Unfortunately Cats don't drink so Lazer Gato had to sit that one out. Speaking of new places the rookies are going to need to find homes in Carolina, Gato was able to get a few recommendations from his new teammates. Hopefully the pet policies aren't too much of a hassle, I can't imagine what the deposit is going to be for a Cat that can shoot literal lasers out of his eyes.

Oh, boy have you ever flown from London, England to Vancouver? Well, Remington Richardson III sure as heck hadn't and he's still in transit. That's right, he's writing this from an uber on the way to the team facility, totally jet lagged and worn down. He's a little tired, he's a little wired, and he hopes this uber guy doesn't steal his stuff. You know, it struck RR3 as weird that he had to arrange his own uber from the airport to the facility but maybe that's what happens when you're a third round pick to the minors.

Once he gets to the facility he'll have a lot of work that doesn't pertain to hockey in front of him. Where's he going to live? Is Vancouver really that expensive? Ten dollars for a banana? Oh well, he texted with a bunch of his teammates and they seem nice so he's got that going for him.
