S71 PT #0: Is it solipsistic in here or is it just me?

Prompt 0
Bojo biscuit recently found out that his life is a lie and he has no real purpose in life other than to live some sick twisted and possibly sexual fantasy of a man named Ray Borxy. He started realizing things weren’t quite adding up when his summer off seasons only lasted a few weeks. It’s like time had barely even passed because it hadn’t. Chances are that smjhl winners orgy didn’t really happen at all either, and that instead of pelvic thrusts going back and forth it was binary thrusts going one and zero. Is the hockey real? Was the team real? Was the triple d big titty goth girlfriend who ties me up real? It was real to me damnit. The adventures we had on the ice were full of perseverance, challenges, and bodily fluids. I’m kinda having an existential crisis right now. Am I Boho or am I Ray voicing Boho? Or am I boho thinking I’m Ray thinking I’m Boho. Man I’m hungry let’s get bojangles

PROMPT 2: Your player has either been informed or discovered personally that some nerd-ass fan has created a version of themselves in an online sim league.

WRITTEN TASK: Tell me how your player reacts to this information. Do they give the fan an exclusive selfie to use as their sig? Do they sue for likeness abuse? Do they create a player themselves just to see what it's like?

In a weird parallel universe kind of thing, Baby Yoda from The Mandalorian connects with the Force powers and learns that there is a version of himself who, instead of being discovered by Din Djarin and having all the adventures he does in the Disney+ Star Wars universe, it turns out that he was transported to a cyber dimension and became a hockey player instead. The Star Wars Grogu might be horrified to see himself skating around the ice using a stick to hit a little black puck into a 4 by 6 net, in the hopes of getting to have a virtual parade through a simulated city. But at the same time, I feel he would also be proud to see that the cyber hockey version of himself is actually pretty good at the game, setting franchise records for the Dragons and being a top player, including winning four straight Jeff Dar Awards as the top two-way forward in the league. He gets a ton of takeaways, using the force to steal the puck the same way Star Wars Grogu uses the Force to steal cookies from children. Also hopefully the lawyers for Star Wars and Disney recogize that it is all in good fun and is not at all any sort of copyright violations, no need to sue me Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni hahaha!

Roleplaying as a professional sports persona is something that virtually everyone has done since they were little.  Strom, after learning that someone took this to a virtual level was first of all surprised that someone would choose him as the person to emulate, secondly was humbled...also because someone chose him to emulate as their avatar.  In light of this, and wondering if there would be others like him he went through all of the potential google searches he could for fantasy hockey and hockey simulation combined with his name to see what results came up.  The few results that were there were impressive, however not all things would be as they seem.  Strom would opt to reach out with his legal team to send out cease and desist letters to not only the person registered as him, but also to the websites in question.  It would be on official SHL letterhead and would come with a warning in bold letters at the top that financial compensation would be pursued if the accused did not stop immediately.

To the keen eye though, they would hopefully catch the joke as each first letter of each line would be specifically chosen to spell out "Gatored" and then at the very tail end, assuming the entire letter was read, would be a url link they could reference that allowed them free use of his likeness without penalty.

Prompt 1:

Matiss came to this realization that he was in a simulation league, due to the fact that in his fourth season with Newfoundland, he noticed that he did not get any better and stayed the same with his abilities. He thought that that was a very odd thing since he had his best season of his career in year three and thought he would get better overall just based on how he performed. Once he talked to some people around the league, he started to realize what was going on and was totally understandable of the circumstances and what was going on outside of his control. Matiss is aware that he has no control of his circumstances and abilities. He just goes out there and plays with what he has. Since he has been doing well as a player with his current abilities Matiss has full faith in the hockey nerds, and who is controlling him to be able to continue making him the best player possible.

Upon discovery of hi.self being created by some nerdy idiot on the internet, Chad Nickelback would want to check out the site for himself.

Seeing that it could be something to distract himself when on tour or running between games he would decide to give it a go. However, Chad would not be joining the league to be the best player he could be in the league, but for one se reason. Chad would be joining to destroy the member who has stolen his identity, and would do everything in his capacity to ruin the career of the fake Chad Nickelback.

It would start innocently enough, with tryibg to get into the other Ayers circle of trust, and quickly expand as he develops more contacts in the league. Chad would attempt to be getting into a gm role so he can force a trade of fake him to the worst team in the league. Just when they think they're down and out, the final strike of the coup will be completed when he drops a thunderdome thread with falsified screenshots to lead to punishments again and again until the player is forced to retire

Never forget

If my player, Daniel Grumathan, had found out that some nerdy ass obsessive fan had created a virtual version of him for the use as a player in a virtual simulation league like this then reaction to it probably would not be that positive. There is that slight chance he would find it cool or feel honored in some strange way but I think more than likely he would find it weird and maybe a bit creepy. Obviously as a professional sports player, people can play as you in the more official sports games but it would be weird to know that someone wants to essentially roleplay as him. Also Grumathan is someone who does not like attention of any kind so that would just be kind of weird in that regard somewhat. Like I said though who knows, maybe he would find it cool or even try out the sim league if he took the time to look into it more.

If anything Noel would probably be a little honoured if he found out someone created a version of himself in an online sim league. As Oscar Wilde said, imitation is the sincerest form of flattery right? Maybe just a little weird, but is it much different than playing as a certain player on EA NHL, or pretending to be your favourite player as a kid while playing? He did get curious though after being informed of this role play of himself going on, so he decided to go to the site in particular and see what the person was doing. He found a couple years worth of really random ass backstory and lore that the person had wrote. Some of it actually real which he assumes was taken from his social media or whatever, but some of it was completely made up, and almost all of it hilarious and absurd. In the end though it's not harming himself or anybody else so he doesn't really care.

My player will obviously go through an initial shock where he would panic and feel a sense of angst and existencialism. That being said, once it passed, he would come out stronger and be a driving force in making me do my PTs. Once he knows his success is directly tied to my work, he will annoy me and message me to keep earning to make his career a more fulfilling one. He does not want to settle for a nomination, he wants to win an award and he will make damn sure that I support him and keep up his training in order to succeed together. He would also threaten to kill me if i ever let the servers go offline because he wants to be forever basking in glory in SHL hockey valhalla, where all the retirees go and get new skates and unlimited beer and pretzels, a place where truly we all want to be

PROMPT 2:

Dwight finds out through a search engine from his nephew that someone is using him and his likeness in an online simulation league called the Hockey Online Experience, or HOE for short. Dwight thinks it is one of the neatest things. He also knows about things like fan fiction and other stories and that being a public figure opens himself up to these imitations. Dwight Knight understands that people respect and like him, and that imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. If it were up to him, Dwight would create a player of his own as he always wanted to play as a defensemen and emulate one of his favorite two players from across history in his mentor Jakob Hamr or current teammate Axel Foley. However the players association hates this stuff. and a representative for the Simulation Hockey Leagues Players Association along side EA choose to sue the crap out of these kids who are playing around and are just trying to have a good time.

PROMPT 1:

They came to this realization because they saw the script. They came off the ice early because their stamina has recently regressed, so the crew was caught off guard. Weirdly, the script said "and then Slip McScruff finds the script" but they had to play it off organically.

This revelation actually relieved a lot of stress and unlock the next tier of cartoonish antics. All of the main character situations that happened to him over the years clicked into place. Each season had some different through-line of ridiculousness and ever other player had their own main character syndrome going on. Slip is old enough to remember when the events were scattered and included weekend fun times. Now, everything has become streamlined and he thought it was just his own maturity.

Honestly, the truly terrifying thing is that Slip now knows his entire existence will blink out when the Entity moves on. He takes that revelation with a kind of live / laugh / love cope because anything else will leave him screaming into his pillow at night.
