From One Dream To Another (First Article 2x)
#1

Ryan Quintana-Green had a dream, a dream that he had chased since he was a teenager - to become a rapper. He had practiced day and night, freestyling off the dome and also writing rhymes and trying to hammer down the right flow. Despite his proclivity for being a rapper, RQG couldn't shake the feeling that something else was always on his mind - hockey. Ryan had been a natural on the ice, with speed and agility that was unmatched. A quick learner, RQG never failed to impress his coaches with his talent, but that didn't mean that he always dreamed of this. Even as he sent people into the boards, and flung effortless passes across the crisp ice, Ryan was always hesitant to give up his rap career for hockey.

But one day, he decided to take the leap. He laced up his skates and stepped onto the rink, feeling the ice beneath his feet, just as he always had. As he slid across the ice, he felt a sense of exhilaration that he had never felt before. He always felt something, but that day he just felt... right. RQG knew that he had made the correct decision - he was meant to play hockey.

Fast forward to today, and Ryan sees his name in lights as a member of the Vancouver Whalers. When he signed on as a free agent after the draft, he wanted to endear himself to his teammates. Already a friend of fellow defenseman Bellamy Blake, RQG was able to fit in right away with the rookies and the veterans of the squad. The team chemistry is nice and the morale is definitely high. Quintana-Green takes to the ice with a newfound confidence, knowing that he made the right choice. While he is not a captain or even a veteran of this team let, he knows that one day soon his team will look to him for leadership and guidance, and he will be more than happy to provide it when the time comes. On the ice, he tries to lead by example.

Ryan is determined to lead his team to a championship in season 71, and he will stop at nothing to make it happen. He knows that it won't be easy, that there will be challenges and obstacles along the way. But Ryan is ready to face them head on, with all of the grit and determination that he has. The team aspect is a big part of why RQG knows he made the right choice. That sense of camaraderie is missing when he was growing up trying to make it in rap. It's every man for themselves out there. Ryan recalls a story of one night when he knew that it wasn't for him. While walking the streets of South Florida, it isn't always safe. RQG was a bit naive about this, despite growing up in the surrounding areas. He knew better, but sometimes it felt so commonplace that he didn't think twice. After running into some trouble and managing to escape, he knew he had been in the wrong areas, running with the wrong crowd. At the end of the day, he was alone. This all led him to seek out a team sport, and boy did he find the right one.

Despite knowing the tough road ahead, Ryan never loses sight of his goal - to lead his team to victory in season 71. He understands that success isn't just about the end result, but also about the journey that leads to it. Ryan believes that every obstacle and challenge he faces is an opportunity to learn and grow stronger. For him, nothing worth having comes easy, and he is willing to put in the hard work and dedication it takes to succeed. With his unwavering spirit and unyielding determination, Ryan is sure to inspire and lead his team to greatness. With all this, RQG's love for music will never die. He still freestyles with his teammates, and has put them on to a great deal of new rap music, and old rap as well. Some old heads on this team thats for sure! But whether it's spitting rhymes with the boys, or blasting rap while warming up on the ice, Ryan knows he found a passion in hockey, all while preserving his passion for hip-hop! They say dream big, but nobody ever tells you what to do when you switch dreams. Turns out, you can live out multiple dreams at once! When the Whalers lift the cup, you can expect some RQG rhymes on a hot microphone, that's for sure! That victory in the Four Star Cup, whenever it will be, will be so incredibly sweet, and for Ryan Quintana Green, will look like a dream realized!
