Hello, SHL. Today I will be reviewing the first round of the season seventy four star cup playoffs. I'm excited to share my thoughts on these series with you.
The S70 Playoffs started with the Vancouver Whalers facing off against the Carolina Kraken. The Kraken won game one by an impressive four to one score. They then won the second game five to three. The Kraken then unloaded by a bloody ten to five win over the Whalers. The Whalers would fight off the sweep however in an amazing six to five overtime win against the Kraken. Carolina would then go on to win the final game five to two to eliminated my beloved Whalers. Hopefully we can get deeper into the playoffs this season and perhaps even bring a four star cup to the best coast. We have a real chance with the wonderfully put together team we have this year. The Kelowna Knights Vs ( Former Anaheim Outlaws) Yukon Malamutes was another matchup in the season seventy playoffs. The first game was a squeaky four to three win for Kelowna that would then be mirrored in the second game as it once ended up four to three but this time in Yukon's favor. Yukon then beat Kelowna by the same score for the second time before being absolutely crushed by the knights eight to two. Yukon would make a comeback however as they won the next game over the Knights by a goal with a final score of three to two to force a game seven. The Malamutes then disposed four to one to win the serious and eliminate the Kelowna Knights. The Quebec City Citadels Vs The Detroit Falcons was another first round matchup in the playoffs that year. Quebec City took the series lead in the first game after a two to one win. Detroit retaliated with a four to one second game win to tie the series at one a piece. Detroit followed their second game win with a win in the third three to one. The Citadels weren't down and out though as they rallied back for a seven to four win over Detroit in the fourth game.. Detroit would win game five three to one to take the series lead and then finish off the Citadels in the sixth with a four to zero shutout to win the series. The final series of the first round was the Great Falls Grizzlies Vs The Anchorage Armada. The Armada won the first game of the series four to three. The Grizzlies won the second game of the series four to one. Anchorage then came back to win five to four in the third game of the playoff series. Great Falls returned the favor with a a four one win over the Armada. The Anchorage would win the series though with a three nothing shutout. Of course in the end Newfoundland would be the team to win it all. A team that conspicuously had a bye in the first round of these playoffs. Still congratulations to the berserkers on their win.
