CREATIVE PROMPT / STORY MODE - Opening Night

Written Task: The drama is over. Your team will not be moved to Saskatoon, you have a real pro-level arena again, and your owner has stopped asking you to get involved in local politics on his behalf. For now. But he has one last thing to request your input on: the special event for opening night!

What special event, gimmick, promotion, or otherwise memorable frosting will you add to your team's opening night cake in your brand new stadium? What's something your fans will never forget? (150+ words)

PLAYER PROMPT - Stop asking me for shit!

Written Task:  See, none of this off-ice promotional stuff is actually in your contract. You have to put on a good face in interviews and not do enough cocaine to make the news, but stumping for a new stadium or designing events on behalf of your owner is outside your job description.

If you choose to enforce this part of your contract, how would you politely (or otherwise) tell your owner to buzz off? Or would you negotiate a consulting contract? (150+ words)

Adam Liebold's plan for opening night is to have a fireworks and cannon display. The cannons mounted at the top of the arena ramparts will be fired off to the tune of the united states national anthem. They will then have a fireworks show after the game lighting up the whole Baltimore harbor. The entire city will be invited to the ceremony with the game being projected on the sides of the new arena on their new projectors. Fans will be able to tour the ramparts and towers of the rink and get a tour of the whole facility. The plan will be to get the entire city involved in the festivities to boost the excitment for the fans this season. They will also have reduced price tickets for local residents to get the local community involved in the games. The whole goal is to get the city to rally behind the platoon and keep that momentum for the whole season.

We all know Ben Jammin is a fan of music and festivals (he even has performed a DJ set for the Chicago  syndicate fans) so it is no surprise that the special event will be Ben performing one of his famous DJ sets for the wonderful fans of Chicago. However, this time around he will ask his Chicago teammates for songs they would like to be played because prior Ben was just using his own playlist of songs to play live, but he wanted to change things up for this special occasion. When Ben would play his sets, 99% of the songs would be K-Pop songs, but he wants to expand his horizons and be more diverse in his sets so he asked his lovely teammates for some songs he can incorporate into the set. 

Some songs included music from Paramore, Blink-182, Linkin Park just to name a few of them. 

Ben has also gotten closer to @jeffie43 this past season and he has broadened his K-Pop taste as well by introducing him to the group g-idle so Ben will add some of their songs to his playlist for the performance in Chicago on opening night.

Creative Prompt

With the whole arena fiasco finally coming to a close, the fans, team and management can finally just focus on the on-ice product! To celebrate the occasion, the team has kept the fans first outlook to their first game of the season (the subsequent games will unfortunately continue to cater to some businesses and box office members). First and foremost, as they were doing in the college arena, the empty seats after the first period will be sold at an extreme discount for dedicated fans to come into the arena and watch the game live. In addition to that, there will be a large number of giveaways, with a scratch card for each seat and t-shirt cannon giveaways (including the upper bowl because we gotta show them some love too!). At the end of the game, the players offer a "skate with the players" session where fans can come on ice and take photos, signing anything and everything! Definitely a big thank you for the fans for sticking around with the team.

Creative prompt

The original idea for the Newfoundland Berserker's season opening night in their new arena was to have some artists on ice juggling with sharp axes and then throwing them into the audience so fans could have some real "Berserker style" souvenirs (with or without blood on it), but someone from the arena management decided that was 'potentially' too dangerous. Some team members argued that this clearly would've been something nobody would ever forget compared to some random cheap gimmick, but if it was too dangerous it was too dangerous. Instead the team had to go with 'safe' - and slightly boring - hats made out of cardboard with axes sticking out on each side placed on every seat as promo items and a limited number of berserker bobble heads. At least the brand new light show was nice, because the ice would be painted blood red and give the whole arena a special atmosphere before players would be introduced individually while skating onto the ice.

Player Prompt

Honestly, Mikko loves an opportunity to tell his boss to take a hike.  It is not because he doesn't like his boss, but he loves making the guy sweat.  So, this very scenario is something he tried a few seasons back.  The team had these huge plans when they were rebranding, and Mikko just played behind the scenes sort of incognito not really agreeing to or disagreeing with the changes.  Then, two nights before the big unveiling, in which Rashford was expected to be on the of main players in the premier, Mikko had his lawyer draft up an official complaint and submit it to the team.  The boss was SWEATING! he thought everyone was on board, now, he's faced with a potential blunder in the media for making a decision that the organization was not ready for, and potentially losing their player.  Mikko instructed his agent to ignore any calls from management, and instead opted to walk into his Boss' office unexpectedly the next day.  Mikko had a big smile on his face, and told him to read the first letter of each paragraph.  It stated "Ignore this letter, it's not even signed"  As he left the office, Mikko turned around saying "see you tuesday"

Creative Prompt: For the grand opening of the new arena that is not in Saskatoon, Lias is planning a diversity and inclusion event. This will be a really big middle finger to all of the boomer bigots who think that politics and political correctness don't matter in hockey. Lias thinks it's very important to get off to a good start committing to inclusion and making everyone in the community, regardless of who they are, where they come from, who they love, etc, feel welcome at Aurora games. Because a hockey team is nothing without the city that supports it, and if the hockey team expects the people in the city to support it, it's nice to know that the team returns that support, that in whatever way they can they will have your back. If it makes some bigots angry, that's even better. Now, it's obviously hard to make one singular night about including EVERYBODY, so that's why the grand opening ceremony will include the announcement of the various promotional nights and campaigns the team will be participating in throughout the season, a little sneak peak/open house type deal.
