Sir Devoir thoughts on the Offseason
#1

"Hello everyone and appropriate greetings to you all, my name is Sir Devoir, and as you know I have been the starting goaltender for the Baltimore Platoon for quite a few seasons now. It has been quite a long and at times rough ride, with Baltimore still yet to have won a playoff series in the time that I have been in the net for them. They have made a big trade to bring in Max Manning in to help our team, and I have been training with him to build an emotional connection as I do with every player on the Platoon.

It is exciting to be playing with a former SHL MVP and I am hoping for big things for him in Baltimore. Unfortunately, it is quite bittersweet because it means that a teammate and a man that I like to consider a friend in Lord Raiden unfortunately has to leave Baltimore for greener pastures in free agency. I personally wish him luck in everything he does, and I hope he is not feeling too upset about the team decision. It is unfortunate, but our cap situation makes keeping him and Max Manning unfeasible it seems. I actually gave Lord Raiden a picture of us from our first season together as a token of our friendship and my appreciation for all his hard work with Baltimore and helping me develop.

As for the draft, Baltimore did not have many draft picks, but I was happy to help personally announce on camera that we picked Brandon Gilleyes in the second round with pick 37, and someone with a rather unusual name in Future Considerations with pick 71. Then again I am a hockey playing Gallade who can speak multiple languages, so what room do I have to talk about unusual names? I have actually had personal one on one talks with these two players, and I am happy to say that they both seem very interested in playing for the Platoon and I believe they can both be better than what their draft pick numbers say. As for why we did not have many draft picks, blame the amount of draft capital we had to give up to get Max Manning and possibly other trades as well that I am not aware of.

As for what I have been doing in the Offseason, I have been keeping myself occupied with workouts and practicing on my homemade rink with some people in Baltimore who volunteer. It is actually a street hockey rink not an ice one, because I am not going to try to have people slip on the ice and get hurt on my property. Also I have joined a D&D group where we can play one shots during the Offseason on the weekend, usually on Saturday. I know that me playing D&D may or may not sound surprising depending on how well you know me, but I find creating characters and roleplaying helps keep my creativity alive.

My current character is a paladin named Arator who is a member of the High Order and is looking for his missing father who seemingly abandoned him. Like him, I actually did not know much about my own father, no one at the carnival has much to say about him. Maybe one day I'll get more information about him, but for right now I am honestly not too concerned about finding more about him. My workout routine usually starts out with stretching so I don't pull a hamstring, and involves treadmills and a lot of leg workouts and weightlifting. Being a half fighting type helps a lot, and being half psychic helps me remove weights with my mind if something goes wrong, so I can usually be my own spotter.

However don't worry, I have other players on the Platoon act as my spotter as well on occasion. I am actually really content with my spot on the Platoon right now, and I am willing to help work with my backup goalie so that we can both improve. I am a bit concerned with how old I am getting, however there is nothing I can do to stop the passage of time so I will not treat it as a huge concern right now. Well that is all I wanted to write about at the moment, so I hope enjoyed reading this. Thank you all and Sir Devoir out!"

Thank you all for reading and I hope to see you all on the ice!
