The Kelowna Knights have won five straight games. After starting the season 2-7-1 they have now clawed their way back to .500 hockey. Their record is now 7--7-1 after scoring 30 goals in 5 games. An average of 6 goals per game is way up from the 2.6 goals per game they were averaging before this stretch of games. Kelowna has given up 17 goals against which is pretty high over 3 per game on this winning streak. It's been a lot of run and gun hockey. Not as much defence happening but the games are fun for the fans. If we look deeper at this stretch of games we can see how exactly the Knights are scoring so much.

Shots Last Five

Led 38-15 Against Quebec City
Led 47-21 Against Great Falls
Led 36-30 Against Regina
Led 33-31 Against Detroit
Led 41-27 Against Anchorage

So the Knights are putting a lot of pucks on net and haven't just got lucky goals. They are always tough to defend against when they shoot so much. They dominated in shots against Great Falls and Anchorage. Detroit just barely lost out by 2 shots in a close one.

They are spreading the points around amongst the players as well.

11 players had a point in their win against Quebec
9 players had a point against Great falls
11 Players against Regina
14! Players against Detroit
12 against Anchorage.

That feels great for the team to all share in the points. Some teams are led by a few but this team Kelowna needs everyone to help out.

The rookies on the team have been trying their best so far to help get some wins.

Mauga has finally scored his first SMJHL goal in the stretch of 5 wins. He has 2 goals actually now but funny enough they both are empty net goals. Mauga still has not beat a goalie to score yet. This is a real shame as although he is a rookie he wants to help his team win more games. Icing away the win with am empty netter is nice but look for Mauga to get in on the action against a real goalie soon. He is having a hard time adjusting to the new team it seems and hasn't played well. Only the Bots have less ice time and that is fair at this point. Mauga needs to prove to the coaching staff that he can move the needle if he wants more ice time. With 25 hits Mauga is 4th on the team though so he isn't afraid to get in their and get his hands greasy. Hopefully he will find a scoring touch soon and help push for more wins.

Daniel Durkburg is helping offensively to lead the way. He now is tied for team lead in goals and assists. Making him first for points with 18 points in 15 games.

F. Sieve started 4 of the 5 wins but wasn't that special stat wise. Hopefully he can get a shutout soon to boost his confidence.

The Knights will look to push past .500 now and extend this win streak to 10+ Games. If they can keep shooting it like this it will be a nightmare for any goalie who faces them.
