I'm not as familiar though as to the requirements for a GM to be considered vs players being considered. Anyone care to enlighten the ignorant? There's no real requirement for a GM to be listed, aside from having stepped down recently. GMs only have 3 seasons of eligibility, but that eligibility begins immediately, the season after they step down (as tracked HERE). The current list is what was listed in the ballot when the S66 voting was conducted, and was not kept up to date. Look for that to change moving forward. ![]() HOF Committee Hall of Fame Head Hello everyone, and welcome to the Season 66 Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony!
I’m super excited to be presenting this season’s inductees, and it’s truly a fantastic group of players that we’re welcoming into our prestigious halls. There are a lot of changes coming to the Hall of Fame soon, but as a reminder, this season's voting took place many months ago, before I was brought in. Any errors or complaints can be sent to me in a DM, but know that this was already decided and I can't do anything other than make adjustments moving forward. Also, as a reminder, applications to be a part of the new Hall of Fame Voting Committee are open through this Friday, at Midnight EST! Before we get to celebrate those who made it, let’s take a chance to recognize those who graced our ballots for the final time this season. Four players were on the ballot for the final time during Season 66 who unfortunately did not garner enough votes to be inducted into the SHL Hall of Fame. Before we begin with the inductions, we would like to remind everyone of how the voting procedure works. Each member of the committee (10 people in all) nominates 5 retired athletes from the list of eligible players and ranks them 1 through 5, which in turn gives these players points according to their rank (10 points for 1st, 7 for 2nd, 5 for 3rd, 3 for 4th and 1 point for a 5th). Each committee member must also provide a short written piece to back up their choices. These points are then totaled and all players who receive 35 points or more are selected to be inducted into the Hall of Fame.
For GMs, committee members are allowed to place 2 votes, and a GM must receive at least 65 points to be inducted into the Hall of Fame ![]() HOF Committee Hall of Fame Head Our first inductee played for a single team for their entire career and was a pivotal piece in multiple deep playoff runs, including three Challenge Cup victories.
A mind-blowing .94 PPG throughout his career, plus six All-Star nominations and several individual award wins and nominations made this player stand out to our voters, and it’s no surprise that he had an almost unanimous 1st-place selection by the committee (91 out of a possible 100 points). ![]() HOF Committee Hall of Fame Head

He also has the most points out of any eligible player. " "I don't think there's a question with Luffy. 6x All-Star, Mexico, Khan, and Mcdonald with multiple other nominations. Got the cup. A point per game with good supporting numbers. The only player that screams #1. " "Luffy was the franchise player of the Stampede for the S46-60 era, with ridiculous point totals in regular season and playoffs. Awards and Cups to match." "A very consistent point producer as well as a very good postseason performer, who had consistently high point totals in his career during the peak. (6 seasons at the very top of the league). Also has the trophy case (especially the MVP). The All SHL nominations are also impressive" ![]() Registered The Two-Time Two-Time ![]() HOF Committee Hall of Fame Head Our next inductee spent a large portion of his career with the team that drafted him, even winning a cup with them, but then spent the final 10 seasons of his career with 5 different teams, never staying put for more than 2 seasons until his retirement. With an impressive three All-Star nominations and an even more impressive 3 Bojo Biscuit wins, he was an absolute monster on defense, finishing with more than 1600 career hits and only 6 blocked shots shy of 1700 for his career.

He has proven to be the most well-rounded defenseman eligible." "A three-time award winner of any award should have a strong case on that alone. 3x Biscuit wins with 5x All-Star, a cup, and multiple nominations for other awards. Over 1000 games played adds to the milestones. Amazing hits, shots, and shots blocked numbers for a defenseman. A bit of a no-brainer. If Luffy screams #1, Kirkby screams #2. " "A very complete defender throughout his career that most users would be envious of. Has the offensive numbers during the prime + 3x Biscuit wins as a defensive defender. The total package for a TWD. The All SHL nominations are also impressive" ![]() Registered S45, S48, S49 Challenge Cup Champion
Felt like I probably should have made the hall of fame as a GM, but alas the voters felt differently.

![]() HOF Committee Hall of Fame Head Our final inductee is another standout goal scorer, but unlike Luffy and more like Rex, he bounced around teams for his entire career, playing for 7 teams over 19 seasons. With a large portion of their more than 1000-game career being played in the STHS era, where goal scoring was overall lower compared to FHM, his offensive numbers still shine. To bolster his already strong case, the voters also pointed to his 4 All-Star appearances, 2 McDonald trophy wins, and a Challenge Cup victory.

"Czerkawski was a premier goalscorer in the late 40's to early 50's. His output, while not overly impressive compared to scoring in the FHM era, is on a very high level for its time. Add two McDonald trophies, a Mexico nom, and multiple All-Star appearances and you've got a strong candidate." "Something that is very overlooked is that Czerkawski played the majority of his prime during the STHS era which was generally more low scoring but still is 0.7 PPG with 2x McDonald trophies and 4 All SHL team nominations" ![]() Registered S8, S9 Challenge Cup Champion |
