Today we are live in Sweden taking a day off until the playoffs. This weekend will be the draft of SHMJL. We will have a new generation joining the team. Today we have Kahri, GM of Carolina Kraven joining us.
Q: How long have you been GM? Why did you choose the Carolina Kraken team over others? Kahri: S76 was actually my first season! I was drafted to Carolina during my J draft and just finished my last season as a player for them when expansion team GMs were announced. With Frenchie getting one, it opened up the opportunity for me. Carolina is something that means so much to me and always will be a special place to me so at the end of the day, I don’t think I could have gone to another franchise when Carolina is my home. Q: So you and Frenchie were co-GMs before he left to Highlanders? How was your experience working with him? How did that help you become the GM you are now? Kahri: nope!! Carolina was Sve7en and Frenchie! so 7 is still around. I just replaced Frenchie. Q: Your team did well in the playoffs. What was your strategy especially against the Maple Timbers? Kahri: Your team did well in the playoffs. What was your strategy especially against the Maple Timbers? We went to game 7 with both Maine and Colorado. In the end, it could have gone either way. So for those game 6 and 7, it’s a lot of just hope. Q: As the draft is coming up what are Carolina Kraken looking for in particular to recruit? Kahri: We lost a few to their SHL teams. So position wise, replacement of those. LR is super important to us so a LR personality would be great to get! Q; So the next season is coming up so what’s Kraken’s game plan for next season? Kahri: continue to do what we are doing but with more success but not losing what makes carolina carolina Q: Which of the players do you think we should watch out the most this season? Kahri: Max Belcher and Jamie Fraser already showed massive improvement this season compared to last. I would imagine they jump even more. Thank you so much Kahri. Now let’s give a review for Kraven’s performance last season. They made it to the conference finals ending 4-3 against Timbers. Jack Keigan was #5 goals, #8 points, #2 shots %. Roger Murdock was #4 assists, 3 Krakens were in the top 10 for +/-. Olivja Agate is #8 goals, #7 points, #5 shots. Max Belcher is #9 points, #9 shots blocked, #6 power play. 4 members are in top 10 +/- for defense. This team is promising and will have great season underway. |
