Episode 13: Kraken vs Highlanders: Triangle Mess

Team Kraken are on JetBlue flying back home. Due to Kahri taking liberties of the budget to make some more improvements on amenities and take advantage of Seven’s absence. That some budget cuts had to be made which  includes travel. However, United and Delta gave her a terrible experience. Therefore she picks Jetblue and puts everyone on blue basic which is economy at its very basic cheapest she can go for that airline. The team drew straws to determine who sits next to Kahri. The unfortunate winners are Jack and Max. 

Jack looked at Kahri “Kahri, you have money right? Why don’t we get a jet? Why are you putting us on commercial flights and on economy at that?”
Kahri reads her magazine “Jack, I am not Seven! Besides he is beyond pissed that because I got suspended he had to attend your game against Nevada and miss his cruise. So I am covering his extended trip to Japan which is over $200k. He has a first class round trip, spending money, and the like. He will be gone for almost 3 weeks! Besides, while he is gone I can finally work on those extension projects.”
Max looks at the window “You had the construction team show up as soon as we left for Vegas.” 
Kahri grins “Aww come guys you are getting an indoor pool with a hot tub,  and private movie theater.”
Lukas from the back “Well adding those restaurants and pubs did help. Also we have 2 barbecue championships held at the stadium during the off-season.”
Jack eats his snack “I do like the fact we have that now and we get a discount as players.”
Kahri nods “Kraken haven’t won the cup and we need to support ourselves in other ways, not just relying on our players. We are in Carolina so we should take advantage of the BBQ community.”
Max gets his PSP out “Jack don’t complain! This is better than Spirit! Why we were on that flight is beyond me!”
Kahri grins “Me and the managers were drunk when we scheduled the flight.”
Max rubs his head “We almost missed our game Kahri!”
Kahri grins “Don’t worry and this time we will win against the Highlanders right team!”
Silence…
She yells “I SAID IS THAT RIGHT TEAM!!!”
The Kraken players reply “Yes Kahri!”

Hockey watch the water fountain in the Wyndham hotel that the team is staying in. Hockey realizes that Frenchie always puts the team in Wyndham brand hotels. They only deviate when Pyro takes charge. Frenchie confesses that he is using them to increase his hotel points so he has better rewards and stays for his own travels and luxury. Hockey watches a family pass as she thinks about herself and maybe a possible future with Demir. However Olivija’s words haunt her and it didn’t help that Demir actually did go to her house that night. Demir assures her that nothing happened, they just had drinks and caught up. She trusts his words but there is always suspicion. Joe arrives with his dog to sit next to her.

Joe smiles “It’s beautiful is it?”
Hockey nods “Yes, I enjoy  being around water, it's relaxing.”
Joe pat his dog “You are deep thought I can tell so do you want to speak your mind?”
Hockey frowns “I shouldn't say because it may impact the team.”
Joe smiles, “Hockey, whatever you say will stay between us.”
She smiles “It’s Demir… I like him a lot and we are getting closer. Well I am not sure if he feels the same. For all I know he is probably dating Olivija Agate! The fact we are facing her team today it’s really punching my stomach. Okay I know it’s absolutely 100% none of my business but I don’t know if they have a thing! Then I see other women just throw themselves at him and it’s nasty!”
Joe nods “Look while it’s awesome to have women all around you as a man. Each man has that one jewel they are looking for and despite his flaws he will always keep his eye on that one jewel that he desires. Hockey, the season is halfway over and Demir won’t be with us but in Montreal. All relationship foundations are built on trust. If there is no trust then how can you have a relationship? You don’t have to provide details but do you trust him?”
Hockey looks down “I want to..”
Joe just hugs her

The stage is set as both teams take their place. Pyro is wearing a cast because Kahri broke his arm when she karate kick him. This caused him to miss 2 games because he was at the hospital. Frenchie, Pres, and Cycro just stare at him with shame. Kahri stares at Highlanders but she must keep her cool at least until Seven returns. 

The game begins with the faceoff as Highlanders win it. They try to score but fail. Demir makes a plan with Benji and Pique. They break off to set it in motion. Benji takes the puck and hands it over to Demir who dodge the Kraken forwards. He passes it onto Pique who makes the first shot of the night. Kahri makes a call to change the music which changes from Seven’s sport music playlist to heavy metal. Kahri takes her jacket off and lets her hair loose. Then some of the Kraken team begin to bop their head to beat. Olivija and Lukas just count the days left until Seven’s return. Kahri points to the forward as they grin, feeling energized as they make their move to respond. The Kraken rookies band together to hit and push the Highlanders using some cheap tricks and scores to tie the game. 

Jack raise his hands up to pump up the crowd. Kahri has the music room do Metallica marathon for the rest of the first period. The crowd goes wild as supporting the Kraken. Jack leads the team on the ice with the music and motivation from the crowd. Frenchie sighs as he can tell this is going to be a long night. For once upset that Seven chose to take off now leaving them with this. Meanwhile Jack and the forwards begins to make circles around Highlanders and make successful attempts at the net again. Frenchie switch to the 2nd line hoping to stop them. Unfortunately the music got louder and people started clapping. Kahri and Kraken follow suit when the song Battery came on. Jack, Olivija, and Swedish took advantage spinning wheels and confuse Jacob and Bishop with the constant passing following the drum beat until Swedish made score with 3-1.

Jacob goes off “What the fuck is this shit?!”
Olivija laughs “Music dancing… aren’t you a musician?”
Jacob frowns “This is too much for my brain cells.”
Bishop held his head “My ear hurts!”
Olivija sighs, handing some pills to Bishop “Well get over it guys  because Kahri is having this play all night!”
Bishop look at her “Thanks but why are you helping me? Aren’t we enemies?”
Olivija smiles “For now but are you two also not future argos?”
Bishop blinks “You know I was so excited to be pick that I never bother to see who else are in Argonauts.”
Jacob sighs “You are really clueless sometimes Bishop. How do you deal with this Olivija?”
Olivija frowns “Simple, I find ways to cope but as soon as Seven leaves for vacation. I went to my psychairst to give me the strongest medication for stress and anxiety that he can provide to help me survive 3 weeks!”
Bishop shrugs “Why do that? I would just smoke some weed to calm my nerves. I have an edible. Do you want some?”
Olivija looks at him “I might need it…”
Bishop nods “I will give you some after the game is over.”
Olivija laughs “Well l am not going to be easy on you two so give it your best after all we have 4 more games after this.”
Jacob and Bishop grins “Right!”

Then the music changes to the next barns which is Kittie. Kahri drums on the table to encourage and motivate her team. Bishop sits out for a bit until the painkillers that Olivija give him works. Swedish feeling inspires leads the pack out there. Demir steals the puck and tries to make a goal but clashes with Olivija. 

Demir grins “Hello Ollie..”
Olivija smiles “Hello Demir, so where do you think you’re going mister?”
Demir blinks “Well I was walking around the bend and got a punk. Now I want to make a score but you are in my way so…”
Olivija shakes her head “Demir, how many times must we go over this. I do adore you! You are tall, handsome, a hockey prodigy, have that sexy smile, and your muscle form is quite charming.”
Demir blush “You mean it?”
Olivija winks “Yeah I do and if we didn't have our helmets on right now… I would taste your lips.”
Demir’s face goes red “OLLIE!!!”

Taking opportunity of his distraction, Olivija steals the puck and pass it to her forwards as they make their moves. Pas the puck around until it was in Swedish’s hands again for him to score again. Hockey raise her hand to rally the team.

Hockey look at them “Okay guys it’s time we stop playing around. Demir stop letting her get to you. You know how she plays by now. Benji roll out Dustbuster!”
Benji grins “Aye, I haven’t done that in a while.”
Hockey nod “It’s time to get physical so Joe, Peyton, Jacob, Pique, and Spaceman!”
Joe nods “You got it Hock!”
Hockey nod “Now break..”

As the team break out Demir can tell something is wrong with Hockey but now isn’t the time to talk with her about it. Hockey looks up being the playmaker that she hopes her strategy works. Lukas and Joe faceoff with Lukas winning as he tries to make an attempt to score but Jacob hits him to the wall making him lose the puck. Benji take it and jump around with the puck before skating around in zigzag as Kraken tries to chase him but then he speeds up passing it to Hockey as she races to the wall but she swings hard as the puck hits the net landing a score for Highlanders. The scoreboard is now 4-2.

Now both teams have a break since the 2nd period. Demir inhales and exhales as he goes to talk to Hockey. Hockey takes her helmet off with a towel to wipe the sweat around her face. She looks up and see her captain. He takes a seat next to her.

Hockey smiles “Hey, so just 2 more scores than we are tie.”
Demir nods “Yes, they are playing better today. Ollie said she wouldn’t make it easy for me and she wasn’t kidding either.”
Hockey holds her stick “You two always been close.”
Demir nods “Yeah we supported each other since our rookie year. Both of us are from Europe so far away from home. Because we became such great friends is why I decided to join the Latvia federation so no matter what she will always be a friend by her side to play with. This is our final junior year then we move onto SHL. We promise each other that we will make it very memorable!”
Hockey grits her teeth “I see… Demir, I want to be alone.”
Demir shock “Why? Is everything okay? I came here to check on you.”
Hockey closed her eyes “I am fine!”

Kahri claps for her team “You guys are doing great now just keep on the pressure and don’t hold back it let all go! Breathe in and release all the tension into the atmosphere!”
Leighton breathe out into a roar “Oh sorry..”
Kahri grins “Leighton, too much release!”
Lukas nudges Olivija “So when are you and Demir going to make that step?”
Olivija choked on her water “Luke, why do you assume that? We are friends, nothing more..”
Kahri smiles “Your interaction and body language reads differently. If you two like each there is nothing wrong but Ollie there is business over personal.”
Max blinks “But didn’t you get suspended for kicking Pyro’s ass? Did you technically prioritize personal over business?”
Kahri points at Max “We are not talking about me right now Max so shut up!”
Leighton frowns “I get a sense you are a bad example Kahri.”
Olivija sighs “Alright yes I am attracted to him because he is handsome of course. But we are just friends, nothing more guys.”
Jack chew gum “So you two kissing here and there are just friendly right? I caught you two like three times in the course of 3 years.”
Olivija tosses a paper ball at Jack “Shut up!”
Kahri grins “And the plot thickens 3 years is some time Ollie…”
Olivija glares “I hate all of you!”
Kraken team laughs

The 3rd period begins with the Highlanders taking advantage of Hockey’s playmaking ability. They are able to get past the Kraken defense to land another score onto the board. Kahri yells at Kraken to focus. 

Lukas bonk Olivija’s head “Hey keep it together so we don’t have a tie game.”
She grits her teeth “They were very fast that it was hard to keep up.”
Lukas grins “Nah I think you were thinking about Demir. You can play with your boyfriend after we kick his ass!”
Olivija pushes him “Shut up..but you are right so let’s do this!”

Hockey blinks “Boyfriend… are they actually dating and he is playing me?!”
Joe nudged her “Now isn’t the time Hockey..”
Hockey hits her stick “But…”
Joe placed a hand on her shoulder “We can confront him later okay.”

Lukas takes the puck and moves around to avoid anyone going very fast as he can. Using his skates he makes a score before falling to the wall. The crowd  goes wild as does the Kraken team. Kahri calls to change the music to play AC/DC. She begins to start dancing. Some of the Kraken players bop their head to the music. 

Joe checks the clock because it’s less than 5 minutes left in the game. It’s not what they needed for them to score. Now it's 5-3 but Joe is willing to try. That’s all anyone can do besides anything can happen but they must force overtime now. He skates to the others to keep the offense on point while defense applies the pressure. Clarence and Jacob made sure that no one else scores. Clarence waits for the right moment to take the puck and pass it to Pique. Pique takes it down the ice to avoid the forwards then pass it to Joe as he hits Olivija out of his way and lands a score. With 2 minutes left the Highlanders try to make another score to tie the game but they failed, ending the game 5-4 with Kraken victory. The Kraken team begins to celebrate their first victory over their rival.

The Highlanders go to the locker room to shower and change clothes. Frenchie gives the team a speech to raise their spirits and reminds them that they have 4 more games to get back at Kraken. Unfortunately it didn’t move some of the players. Hockey leaves the stadium quickly after she gets dressed hoping to be alone but Demir runs after her.

Demir grabs her arm “Hockey wait… don’t be upset, okay we will win next time!”
Hockey not looking at him “Have you been playing with me?”
Demir blinks “What?”
Hockey turns “Are you two together?! I know it’s none of my business what you do but I overheard Lukas calling Olivija your girlfriend!”
Demir shakes his head “No she is a friend who is a girl. But we are just it.. although we did kiss a few times…”
Hockey glare at him “How many times was that? Let me guess 5?”
Demir scratch his head “Well it’s more than that but we are just friends.”
Hockey yells “FRIENDS DON'T KISS MULTIPLE TIMES YOU IDIOT!!!”
Demir blinks “Why are you getting mad? Wait… Hockey..”
Hockey starts to walk “Leave me alone Demir..”
Demir grab her arm again “Please let me explain…”
Hockey slaps him “I said leave me alone!”

Before Demir could respond Joe comes along to in between them. He glare at Demir.

Joe grit his teeth “The lady said she wants to be left alone. What part of that you don’t understand, captain?! I don’t Ike fighting but I will if I must.”
Demir frowns “Joe, really?”
Joe nods “I am looking out for my friend captain.” He turns to Hockey “Hey we can walk to the hotel together if you like.”
Hockey nods “Thank you Joe.”
Joe smiles and hugs her “Anytime..”

Hockey and Joe make their way back to the hotel leaving Demir dumbfounded. He turns around to see Benji and Pique.

Benji frowns “Dude, like what the hell happened between you and her?”

Demir: Hockey and Joe are mad at me.’Pique barely says a word after I told him my situation. Now you want to be against me too Jacob?
Jacob: Against you? More so like I want to split from you because I am sick of being in your shadow and you sometimes get credit for my work!
Demir: I have a mentor and train you. In case you forgot we are the only defenders on the team and now you want to be against me? You stupid Frenchman!
Jacob: I am not like you and won’t be hindered by excuses or the like. Don’t you try to insult me, you Italian moron!
