Welcome to the roster announcement for team Finland!
Finland
~~~
It's that time of the year again. We're in the middle of the SHL/SMJHL playoffs and I'm talking about IIHF already. If you're also excited about international hockey - at least the wait isn't that long anymore. Where do we stand as a team? Team Finland is still in some kind of 'transitional phase' with more and more of our S60s players slowly aging out and the younger S70s players taking over. We as team management are confident that we have a strong roster and can compete, and we will bring in more young players in the next seasons. It's time for us to collect a medal again!
To get to the point of this announcement and as it is tradition by now we will start with retirements and other departures from last year's roster.
We will have to say our final goodbyes to two retirees that we have already announced last season: Yannick Svoboda and Nibbles, the Squirrel, it was great having you two on our roster, one for a relatively long time and the other one a little shorter. Either way, we wish you both a happy retirement!
Not retired yet, but aged out of the team is one of our long-time S62 players: Christian Kinsinger. You've been a big part of Team Winland and we'd like to thank you for the many great tournaments and of course the medals you helped us win, too.
~~~

Returning to us, after missing the last tournament, is William Tree. It is great to have you back, hopefully for longer this time!

~~~
In S77 we'll add two rookies to the team, both defenders. Let's introduce Johnny Patey V2 and Simo Jääskeläinen. Both have had a lot of success in the recent WJC tournaments they've played in and we hope they'll continue to bring us some luck on the senior team. Welcome to Team Winland!
~~~

One more administrative announcement. Due to a small surplus of young defenders on the team, we had to convert some of them to forwards and play them out of their natural position. Something like this is very normal on IIHF teams. This year it'll be the duo of Kristian Seppanen and Cheeks Klapanen who will play forwards instead of defense.
