Both teams are lined up back at center ice to take the faceoff. McBride has put their first line out, while Jesster has sent out his 3rd line of Raycroft, Duddy, and Klose.

Duddy wins it between Martucci’s legs and tries to split the D, but he is shut down at the blueline. Willie Weber picks the puck up and skates it to the red line, and dumps it into the offensive zone. The puck takes a bounce, and goes right towards the net. Kovalenko chases it down. Kovalenko reaches to poke it past Jesster, as he pushes Wastlund aside.

And Jesster makes the save. But wait, now there is some pushing and shoving going on. It seems as though Wastlund didn’t like that Kovalenko pushed him aside and walked by him. OH! And Wastlund crosschecks Kovalenko into the ground. Wastlund managed to take out his own goalie after hitting Kovalenko in the back. The Ref is skating over, although I doubt we will see a penalty.

And the ref drops the puck, and Skvoznak wins the puck back to his defenseman, and Myers chips it out of the zone, and all the way into Team McBrides zone. LaFlamme races back to his own zone, and picks the puck up behind the net. LaFlamme stand behind the net and waits for the play to come to him. Simmons forechecks hard, and forces LaFlamme to make pass it over to Kovalenko on the right wing boards, Kovalenko skates back behind the net and drops it to Martucci as he is curling for the breakout. Martucci looks up and he hits Brodie Witzel for a break away pass! Witzels battles to stay ahead of the back checking Richan. Richan slows him down, and ties him up a bit, but Witzel maintains control of the puck. Witzel on the backhand, He shoots!....

He Scores! Brodie Witzel backhands the puck into the net, and past Jesster! Brodie Witzel has given Team McBride the 1 goal advantage.

3. Team McBride , Brodie Witzel 1 (Roberto Martucci, Sergey Kovalenko) at 4:26

Wissink ties up Winter at the faceoff at center ice, Brovalchuk picks the puck up from the center dot, and dishes it over to Benjamin Wong. Wong races into the zone along the left wing boards. Wong toe drags around Grossman! It’s a 2 on 1 with Brovalchuk. Wong, without hesitation shoots!....

And scores off the crossbar! David wong beat Jester short side to give Team McBride a 2 goal lead. Wong with the fantastic toe drag around the defenseman, and finishes off with the short side snipe. What an amazing goal by an amazing player.


4. Team McBride , Benjamin Wong 2 (Armin Brovalchuk) at 5:07

Since Team McBride has taken that 2 goal lead, Team Jesster has completely controlled the last 2 minutes. I don’t think McBride has touched the puck since their last goal. Daniel Malenfant works it down low. Malenfant passes it behind the net to Josh Simmons. Simmons tries to walk out, but has nowhere to go. Simmons passes back to Malenfant. Malenfant one touches it over to Skvoznak, Skvoznak takes a one timer and oh it hits the post, but wait the rebound bounces right back to him. Skvoznak takes another shot, and its…..

It’s a goalllll… Skvoznak picks up his rebound and buried his second opportunity past the scrambling Corcoran. Just like that, Jesster brings the game within one goal.

5. Team Jesster , Pavol Skvoznak 1 (Daniel Malenfant, Joshua Simmons) at 7:29

Chisling picks the puck up in his own zone after Team McBride dumped it in. Chisling starts his skate up the ice. Chisling toe drags around Jordan Hall. Chisling tries to toe drag Mckeil aswell, but McKeil picks the puck off his stick and passes over to Miller. Miller races down on a 1-1 against Nic Wastlund. Miller walks around him like Wastlund is a pylon. Miller in on a breakaway. He is in all alone!

And Miller loses and edge and slides into the corner.

Faceoff in Team Jessters zone. Skvoznak and Ron Bolt set to take the draw. Skvoznak wins the puck back to Malenfant whose sitting ready in the slot for a shot. Malenfant rips it!

He scores! Daniel Malenfant scores right off of the draw, and ties the game up at 3-3


6. Team Jesster , Daniel Malenfant 1 (Pavol Skvoznak) at 9:10

Team McBride has just lost their 2 goal lead, but have seem to settled down. They are controlling, and working the puck all over Team Jessters zone. Willie Weber is down behind the net, Weber passes it into the corner where Jason Due was waiting to receive the pass. Due walks out and towards the faceoff dot and cuts back towards the net. Due walks around the defenseman. Puts it between another defensive players feet. Oh my goodness! This is absolutely amazing. Due passes it over to Weber who picks it up in the slot. Weber continues to walk around team Jessters defensemen. Weber back to Due, Due slides it across, Goal!!!! What an amazing play!

And as the 1st period winds down, we saw 7 goals in the first 11 minutes of play. I really expected to see more after the way the game started. Unfortunately now, we will have to wait while the Zamboni cleans the ice, and the players rehydrate. Check back soon for the start of the second period.
