For Marian, backing up the goalie means more than just their performance on the ice. He is able to assist in keeping the goalie concentrated by effectively communicating, giving helpful feedback, and offering words of encouragement. While warming up, Marian can help the goalie prepare by doing drills with accuracy and energy, mimicking actual game situations. If a goal is scored on the goalie, Marian can come together to provide encouragement and maintain their confidence. Engaging with the goalkeeper in between periods can also be helpful, talking about tactics and providing encouragement for the upcoming period.
Conversely, goalkeepers need to remain mentally focused throughout the entire match. Regaining composure after conceding a goal can be achieved by shifting focus to the next play and having faith in their abilities. Goalies must stay humble and grounded to avoid losing focus due to overconfidence. Marian can assist goalies by maintaining strong defense, clearing the area in front of the net, and communicating well on the ice. Furthermore, the substitute goalkeeper can offer assistance during warmups and breaks, providing feedback and motivation to help keep the main goalie focused and ready. ![]() |
