The goalie being totally focused with highly reactive reaction time is key to helping win a hockey game. It is not always the easiest for a goalie to just jump right into the game and be at the top of their ability right off the bat without proper warmup. Every pre skate before games Zeus Storm grabs a couple teammates and they work on breakaway chances to get the goalie reacting and seeing the puck. They will fire shots away from different angles, set up passes, and do 2 shooters 1 puck where two skaters will be on a breakaway where one will shoot and the other gets ready for the rebound shot. In this drill the goalie either catches it off the shot or pounces on the puck to prevent rebound goals. Getting the blood flowing is always critical to help the goalie be acting at the highest level of reaction and focus. Skaters play a vital role in getting their goalie warmed up and Zeus takes pride in ensuring his goalie is ready to go before each game. 180 words ![]() |
