Goalies are weird, that's undebatable. Goalies voluntarily stand in the way of pucks! BUT they are still teammates, so I try to keep them in top form any way I can!
It all starts with a good warm up. I've found that the best way to warm up goalies is wait until they aren't ready and then fire shots at their head. Their faces turn bright red real quick to let you know they are properly warmed up! Once the game starts it can get quite lonely back there in net, so I make sure that once the play does come near them I shove as many opposing players into their crease as possible! The more the marrier! Lastly, I noticed that the puck marks on their pads would eventually wear off. Those puck marks are like badges of honor! So one night after everyone else left I traced every puck mark with a sharpie so they'd have lasting memories of their saves! None of my goalies have been able to find the words to properly thank me for my efforts yet but just knowing that I am helping them is all the thanks I need! ![]() ![]() ![]() |
