Introducing the Updated Card Site

(This post was last modified: 12-07-2024, 02:01 PM by luke. Edited 1 time in total.)

Hello SHL,
About four months ago, we began development work on the new cards site. Today, we can finally present it to you! Thank you to everyone who worked on the dev side.
@caltroit_red_flames and @luke and to everyone who has tested in the beta test. Mainly @Carpy48 who did a lot for that. So thank you!
With this update, we're excited to introduce several new features and improvements to enhance your card collecting experience.

Go Check it out --> https://cards.simulationhockey.com/

Key Updates

New Pack
[Image: ZbYRVp6.png]
We have a new Pack in town! With a new Cards Site, we wanted to add a new Pack for people to buy and collect.
The rules for the Ruby Pack:
Each Ruby Pack costs 100k per pack
Users can only purchase one Pack per day
Each Pack includes a Guaranteed Ruby Card
Then 5 cards of rarities you can find on the site
On the Collections page, you will be able to filter by Base or Ruby Pack and view the quantity you have for each collection. [Image: NrIx6c4.png]

Updates to Opening Pack
The biggest feature we added is the ability to see which Cards are new to your collection. This is something I’ve wanted for a long time, I’m happy that we are able to implement that on the site.
Example shown here:
There is also a share button so that you can share your Packs with everyone!
I opened pack #270256
? ? ? ? ? ?
Check out my cards: https://cards.simulationhockey.com/packs/270256

You can also view your old Packs as well. Shown with the packs link about (and shown later)

Updated Collection Page
This is the improvement I am most excited for (luke talking). I spent a lot of time making sure this works great and includes everything you need.
Collection Sets
You will now be able to track how many Cards you have of each set we have. If you have a specific custom set in mind, you can head over to the new Binders section to do that.
Latest Packs Opened
This will display the last three Packs that were opened. I plan on doing more in this area in the future. However, it will give you a good glimpse of the Cards you opened in the last three Packs if you skipped past them.

Main Collection Area
The most significant improvement to the Cards Site is this area. Here, you can filter by Name, Team(s), and Rarities. Additionally, you can sort by Overall (Ascending or Descending), Player Name (A-Z or Z-A), or Cards Owned (from Most to Least or Least to Most).
Please note that the IIHF Team Name sorting is currently not working. More development is required to implement this, but it is on our todo list.
You can also toggle all Cards in your collection itself. The Cards you haven't collected will be in greyscale so you can keep track of the cards you need.
Like the old Cards Site, you can click on each Card to see the Card in a bigger mode.
However, there are more features. On the back of the Cards, you will be shown all Packs of the Cards you own. So if you trade for a Card, it will show that Pack number, and vice versa. If you trade the Card away, it will not show that Pack number.
On the Show Info, additional details about the Card and the Player will be displayed. It will give you options to look at the Player's Stats, Player Awards, and a list of all users who own that Card. Currently, it will show SHL only stats. With the recent updates to the index, this will apply to every Card. If you see a Card that does not have a PlayerID, please let us know with the report a bug feature at the bottom of the website, and we will add it.
In the "Users who own the Card" section, it will display users who own the Card, sorted from the highest to the lowest number of owners.
There is also an option to trade for that Card from there.

Binders!
The newest addition to the Cards Site is Binders! They will allow everyone to express the unique or niche collections you want to show off to the SHL. You can display everything from your complete set of Ben Jammin Cards to the entire S43 Draft Class arranged by their draft positions.
Each user can create up to 5 Binders, with a maximum of 75 Cards allowed in each Binder for now, which can always be subject to change.
With the Binders, you can create blank spaces for customization. For example, you can organize every 1st Overall Pick by season or arrange the S63 New England Roster by points.

Bug Reporting and Feature Requests
As mentioned in the Main Collection Area section, there is now a bug reporting form on the website along with a feature request form.
Simply click on “Report a Bug” or “Suggest a Feature” in the footer of the site. The information will be sent directly to the dev team to be triaged and completed if deemed necessary. You can track features and bugs in the issues section of the website’s GitHub repository: https://github.com/GuthrieW/shl-trading-cards/issues.

Ruby packs won't have a subscription, no. Multiple factors playing into it, but it's going to be something people have to show up each day for.
