Greetings SHL community,

It has come to the attention of SHL Head Office that during games streamed from 01/06/2025 to 01/09/2025, the Toronto North Stars played with illegal lines that had a forward playing as a part of a defensive pairing.

This goes against Section 1, Subsection D, Rule 4 of the SHL Rulebook:

Quote:Your player must play in the position listed on your player page (all forwards must play on a forward line, all defenders must play on a defensive pairing). Forwards may play other forward roles (center/wing) and defenders may play either side (right/left) without a position change.

HO has voted to issue the following punishment:

Toronto's @mcgriddleluver and @jaypc8237 will be fined half their S80 GM salary.
Toronto's @mcgriddleluver and @jaypc8237 will be on probation for a period of three seasons.

We are following precedent from the SFP Illegal Lines punishment of S58, but have levied the three seasons of probation due to this being a second offense within the span of three months.

As always, the Toronto GMs have 48 hours to send an appeal request to any head of the appeals committee, currently consisting of @DrunkenTeddyand @Leafs4ever.
