Kelowna has had one of the best drafts of season 80. Let's take a deep dive into their rookies. Firstly, we have Khalfani a center. Khalfani was Kelowna's first round pick at pick nine. Khalfani has had an amazing first season in Kelowna with an extraordinary 50 points (26 goals and 24 assists). Clearly Khalfani is an absolute machine on the ice and is someone you definitely want on your team whether it be for scoring goals or giving you those juicy passes. Just for reference, Quazon Brosonchi was one of the best players from last season's draft; he produced a total of 52 points. In the second round, Kelowna had 2 back to back picks, pick 17 and 18. Here, kelowna would pick (who i believe to be) their most current and future influential players. For pick number 17, Kelowna picked Jordan Lafrenière, who is also known as Rooyki. Jordan Lafrenière had a very slow start to the season and struggled even getting a point per game. He described it being a very slow season at first, till the mid season where he started ramping up his point production. Jordan Lafrenière ended the season off with an astonishing 52 points, majority of those points being assists. Jordan Lafrenière is clearly a great team player and definitely a future 1st line centerman. Furthermore, besides a great center, kelowna also got a super active locker room member. Jordan has to be one of the most active players from his draft class. Every single time I hop on the s81 draft class server, I always see new messages from him or that he is currently typing. Overall an amazing player. For their 2nd 2nd round pick, aka pick 18, they chose David Corrigan. David is an incredible winger, and definitely a VERY hidden gem for the numbers he put up, in hindsight it's absolutely mind blowing how he got picked so late with the numbers he put up, in my personal opinion, david should’ve went in the top 3. David had the 2nd highest points of all the rookies and it wasn't even close, the 3rd place rookie had around 55-60 points, that is a 16 point difference between 2nd and 3rd place. David put up some absurd numbers. He also had the 2nd most points in his team - 76 points. Of those 76, 31 of points came from goals while the others were assists. I personally think David is one of those players that enters the league and puts up records. I can see David easily being a future hall of famer (if he chooses to be). Next up, Cutter Gauthier, Kelowna's first 3rd round pick. Cutter is a winger and a really good one at that, he put up 53 points in his very first season within a J, which as previously mentioned, it's no slouch (also take in how he's getting 1st overall like numbers while being a 3rd round pick, while playing on the 3rd line, insanity, kelowna drafting skills is insane). Lastly, Levi Bedrock who was also a 3rd round pick has put up some insane numbers as well. Within this season, he put up 53 points, with a fairly even split between goals and assists (a slight lean on the assist side). All in all, this wraps up my deep dive about Kelowna's amazing s81 draft. As you can see, Kelowana did an amazing job in choosing their players very well as they all put up INCREDIBLE numbers.
