“Amé! Amé!”

Her eyes slowly opened, stained red from the blood dripping down her forehead. Hans was standing in front of her.

“Amé! You took a wild hit there, just stay here, we don’t need you getting hurt more.”

She lifted her head, and looked around. She saw Noxus had dropped the gloves with someone, and was currently doing his best job of rearranging their facial features.

What happened? Where am I?

The arena medical staff ran over with a towel, and tried to check up on her.

Amé groaned, “W-where is Nicole? Is she with Seany? I need to talk to her!”

“Nicole? Seany? Who are you talking about?” Hans replied.

“My girlfriend Nicole? Seany, our GM?” Amé slurred.

“Oh god, you really did get smoked didn’t you. You imagined a GF and can’t even remember who our GM is?”

The medical staff took off Amé’s helmet, and held a towel to her forehead. Hans and River, along with the medical staff, helped Amé to her feet, and walked her back to the locker room.

Had she really imagined everything? It all felt so real to her. No, it couldn’t have all been fake.

But, the more she thought, the more she remembered. She had a girlfriend back in her college years, but her name was Isabella. More importantly, her GM’s name was Amēlija, not Seany.

And right on cue, Amēlija came running into the room to check on Amé. “Oh my god, are you alright?”

Hans and the medical staff informed her of Amé’s condition. She crossed her arms and frowned.

“We’re gonna have to put in Khabi for the rest of the game, I trust him to finish off Maine.”

Amēlija whispered to the medical staff, and then headed back up to the box. She had some calls to make because of the accident.

Amé was taken to the local hospital for a thorough checkup, and was released not too long after. The doctors found no evidence of any physical injury, although she had clearly had quite the dream during her few seconds of unconsciousness.

Amēlija came to the hospital to pick her up, and the two drove back to Amé’s apartment. Before hopping out, Amēlija informed her that she would be taking a mandatory week break from the team to recover. Khabi would get the starting nod for the time being, and an emergency backup was signed for the week.

Amé opened the door to her apartment, where she was greeted by a very excited Eden, who was just happy to see her owner home again. Amé ordered some food for delivery, and the two sat on the couch to watch some TV.

As much as she hated sitting at home, Amé knew it was for the best that she rested up. Despite her injury, if she recovered properly, she would still be cleared to play in the upcoming IIHF tournament. It was supposed to be her first time representing the US on an international stage, and she was very excited.

“Well Eden, I guess we’re gonna get lots of time together the next couple of days, eh?”
