We have made it to the last tournament recap....at least until the awards come out. What a tournament we had! Did our tournament predict the superbowl outcome? Read on to see what I mean!

Starting with the bronze medal game! What a thriller this one was, especially the third period. Fans of both teams would have been on the edge of their seats. Team Canada Canada

taking the lead twice in the third looking like they would stand on the podium for the third straight season. Team USA Usa

answered back each time sending the game to OT! A back and forth single period of OT wasn't enough. This one required a fifth period to settle it. Two and a half minutes into the second OT, Billy Herrington Canada

put scored the game winning goal! Winning their team the bronze medal. Team USA Usa

will surely be disappointed in not winning a medal but a fourth place finish will be something the Federation will look back on and be pleased with, especially if they can grow from here.

In the Gold medal game, we saw Group A second place, Team France France

taking on Group B fourth place Team Norway Norway

. Team Norway Norway

opened up the scoring but it didn't take long for France France

to make it even. Norway Norway

clearly wasn't satisfied with a tied game as they scored again less than a minute later and a third and fourth goal a few minutes later to take a 4-1 lead into the first intermission. The intermission didn't kill their momentum as they came out flying! A beautiful passing play resulted in a goal and put them up 5-1. The rest of the second period was relatively quiet until France France

put on into the back of the net with 3 minutes remaining. The score was 5-2 heading into the third. That was all she wrote as no scoring occurred in the third.

Your GOLD MEDAL WINNERS: TEAM NORWAY Norway

Congratulations to Team Norway!!!! Team Norway Norway

has won their first gold medal since S67 and doing it as the fourth seed in the group is astonishing! They barely made it into the medal round, but went on a run resulting in a historic medal for their team!

Your SILVER MEDAL WINNERS: TEAM FRANCE France

There is no doubt Team France France

will be disappointed in their performance in the gold medal game. They can be extremely proud bringing a silver medal back to their nation. The first ever medal for Team France France

is a huge accomplishment! Congratulations to all the players and Federation heads on this team. They played well all tournament.

Your BRONZE MEDAL WINNERS: TEAM CANADA Canada

Despite not winning the gold for a threepeat, Team Canada Canada

stands on the podium for the third straight year and fifth time in the last six tournaments. This Dynasty of a Federation continues their terror on the IIHF tournament.
The Canadian Canada

team had a chance of a threepeat this tournament. That chance ended yesterday when they lost out to France France

in the semifinal. Today, another team has a chance at a threepeat. That is, the Kansas City Chiefs who have a chance at winning three straight superbowls. The team looking to do that is the Philadelphia Eagles. Will we see our tournament predicting the fall of the Champions with the Chiefs not being able to complete the threepeat?

Congratulations to the Three medaling teams but to everyone that had a great tournament. Thank you to the Quebec Federations for putting on a great tournament and ensuring we never ran out of poutine!
