When on the road it is not to often a season the team makes it eastern coast road swing but when they do being on the East coast in the LA and San Francisco areas it probably the best time for Cale. Taking in the year round amazing weather along with the ability to walk to the rink in your shorts and a t shirt is a welcome break from the normal frigid cold that he is used to in Philly, and even back home in Canada. The fine dining there is always on point and you can find some incredible meals and restaurants around every corner. For these reasons and really the fact that no one recognizes you being from a not as popular sport in the area. You are more free to get out and enjoy your day without some crazed fans getting in your face and take in all the amenities that the cities have to offer! Its almost like a little mini vacation during the season.

Option 2:

A good expansion branding can be rooted in a number of things, and each aspect of the brand compliments the overall reception of the organization. For example, the first thing about a brand that comes into contact with people is the name. Does the name have alliteration? Many good names do. The alliteration rolls off the tongue and has a tendency to stick in their brains longer. Another aspect of the brand that has to be on point is the coloring. Sure you can have teams like the Cleveland BROWNS, but those colors are rooted more in history. For new expansion franchises, all expectation is for the colors to pop and be appealing. Both of these aspects should tie into the history and culture of the city, but I don't think it's a requirement to delve too deep into those aspects. If the name and colors are there - basically if everything looks great and sounds awesome - the team and the fanbase are in for success.

Currently playing in Newfoundland and no complaints being there the nature and scenery is serene and the outdoor activities are numerous. However growing up about an hour outside Philly my favorite city to visit has to be that.

While no SMJHL teams play out of Philly Marsh was lucky enough to be drafted by the Forge and got to attend training camp there before being sent back to Newfoundland.

Off days there is just so much to do. Whenever need a bite swing by the Reading Terminal Market for the famous roast pork and broccoli Rabe or if a tough day an Angelo's cheesesteak (none of that Pat's or Genos). Heading out for the night it's time to hit up old city, so many bars guaranteed to find one you love with personal favorite being plough and the stars.

Of course doesn't hurt if you are a massive Phillies and Eagles fan like Marsh to check out games whenever you're in town. There isn't an atmosphere in sports quiet like Philadelphia and while the sports complex area leaves a bunch to be desired, popping into Xfinity live right by the stadiums is always a good time.

Is all sorts of reasons to have a favourite place could be the scenery could be the nightlife could just be the amenities and things to do could be the lack of traffic maybe you’re interested in hanging out in traffic I don’t know. In terms of this great sport, enjoying cities where you as a player have a tendency to do really well night and night out in 10 also be favored.

However, Brooklyn Physt has always had a soft spot for her birth city not every player who’s ever played in the SHL has the opportunity to play in their hometown the huge amount of European players for example sorry it’s a North American league for many players born in the Americas, sorry some people are not gonna be born in major cities for those who don’t know fast is a native of the big easy that’s right New Orleans home to the New Orleans Specters. That alone is her reason for finding it as her favourite city is home. It’s not a home away from home. It’s not a second home. It’s where she grew up. It’s where she fell in love with hockey.

Denebor Milasch loves seeing the world and traveling all over. Hailing from Poland originally and playing his junior years in Sweden he has been a globetrotter his whole life. The cities he loves to visit are numerous, but at the moment he actually likes getting time before or after games in Toronto. Having spent most of his career in Toronto he had all his favorite little spots and plenty of friends in the area. Everytime he can get some time off in Toronto he hits his favorite restraunts, visits old teammates, and friends. Hitting up his old favorite coffee shop is always high on the priority list whenever he can. Other than Toronto he loves going back to Stockholm ever offseason to do much of the same things. Denebor spends a good amount of his free time in the offseason traveling whenever he can in between training sessions and wants to see most of the world after he retires.

2.  To be a expansion team is pretty hard, since the first years are usually pretty rough due to all the new players. You need a good city, bigger the better, which loves hockey and will be loyal through the rough times which are sure to come. A city that already has a arena that can be used is very helpful, but to really succeed as an expansion team you need time. Some teams have had great success entering the league, others are still waiting for their first cup. Obviously the players that are available and the teams you would be play are hugely important to the success of the franchise, but that is more luck and timing then anything else. The SHL has covered most of the large cities in North America, but I could see the expansion coming in the middle of the USA, since most of the teams are on the coast. Cities like Denver, Detroit, and Salt Lake City are prime spots for a new team.

Oliver Cornwall absolutely loathes the road trips to Edmonton, which may be a surprise given that his absolute favourite road trip every season is to Calgary. There’s just something about the southern Alberta City that hits the spot though. The Chinooks are an amazing experience in the dead of winter, and then you have the mountains available right close by. You can go hiking, skiing, or just generally sightseeing in that region and never get bored! And then Calgary has a vibrant culinary scene, Oliver likes to stop by Class Clown burgers when he swings by Calgary with his teammates, having the best burger in the City. In the warmer months, you can also kayak down the Bow river, which is a magical experience on a hot day, especially when you can sneak a couple of beers into the boat and keep it hidden from Bylaw. Calgary is kinda like home for Oliver, and it’s a highlight of any roadtrip to stop in!

Option 1:

One of the biggest aspects of being a professional athlete is the travel. You spend half the season travelling from city to city in various ways. Some might just be a drive away, but most of the time you're boarding a plane to get to the next city. You have to embrace the road trips and organize yourself so that you make the best of the situation. Personally, I don't mind the road trips and make sure to have a plan in place for each city we go to.

I love hitting up new places to eat. I will reach out to players that play in that city and try to get as many recommendations as I can. I love to grab a couple of teammates and just hit the town and enjoy a nice meal after a game. I love visiting Los Angeles and, surprisingly, Hamilton. Both have fantastic food options and it seems like I always have a new place to try out when we get there.

WRITTEN OPTION 2

It's a good question, but it's has no details. If we are talking for a real life expansion then there are thousands of small aspects. If we are talking about this project, SHL needs something fresh. First, GM who is hungry to build a legendary franchise. Second, team name, city and logo is an important thing as well. I remember almost each time when some good looking team joined SHL or SMJHL, but can't remember when mediocre teams were established. I like that some teams aren't based in the most known cities, but I think it's a bit weird as well. I think that SHL deserves teams in Lasvegas, Pittsburgh, Florida, Boston, New York or Houston. Many well known cities, but they don't have a team. If SHL at least have popular cities, in SMJHL we have Great Falls, Kelowna, Yukon etc. I think there is a place to grow. Logo gotta be fancy as well. Either modern and cool or vintage and catchy. It's true that a lot of users get their first love against franchise just because of their branding.

A good expansion team has to bring the hype on the reveal. It has to get the attention of users and has to draw players to the team. The first part of an expansion team is location. A good expansion can really just get by on a very popular location. For example, I think Ohio is a big draw for alot of users (for some reason....) and that could generate interest in the team itself. A good location selection can go a long way. Brand name is one of those things that can both either not important or super important. To me, I really dont think its a big factor of a good expansion team. As long as it has some history or reasoning behind it. The most important part of an expansion is the logo and colors. The logo is what people love to wear to show off team pride. They love to wear the team colors. A great logo is a must for a successful expansion team. Also a great GM duo making all the moves and hungry for success is vital as well. -186 words
