Dominik is very partial to where he lives most of the year in San Francisco, but it can be fun to get out and about when on the road. Visiting Manhattan is always cool and it's fun for him to see the Cup banner his dad won while a part of the Rage back in the 40s and 50s. It's neat to be able to play on the same ice and get to be in the same places. It is still a big city too, so it doesn't always feel that much different than San Francisco for Dominik, and that's nice to have the consistency and normalcy on a day to day basis when they're on the road. Plus, there are some things that it is always better to get locally and a true bagel, for example, is a nice treat on the rare occasions that the Pride play in Manhattan each season.

In my (professional) opinion I think, no no, I KNOW that the most important thing to make a good expansion happen is things that are going to make a fan base! So yes, you need a populous city. You need team colors that people WANT to wear. Do they want to wear a jersey that has a common, ugly, not well drawn fly on it and is dark red and neon yellow? Probably not. Now one of my fav examples is the Barracudas. Killer mascot, killer colors, their fan base def WANTS to go to the games and rock the jerseys.
We should also try to build the fan base by having games that are fun to go to! Let’s do the lion king baby hold up thing, let’s give away hats and tee shirts. And you know what, this time we’re not ONLY going to give out XL tee shirts! Let’s give out some smalls! Some MEDIUMS! And yes, larges too. But really medium is the most common so why are we solely sending XXL tee shirts through the tee shirt cannon? We are here to make memories, we are here to make fans, we are here to give people tee shirts that fit! WoooOOoo!!
Also I think that we should build the stadium with QUITE a bit more butt and knee room. Golly Gee I did not buy tickets to sit in someone else's lap during the game. If we want to create a strong fan base, let’s give the people a more enjoyable experience and keep them a-coming back game after game!
Well there are two schools of thought I guess. Personally, I don't think it matters. The Rams can play in Cleveland, Los Angeles, or St. Louis. The franchise carries the history. The arenas carry the history. Granted if you move the Washington Capitals to say, Denver, it might not have the same kick so they'd probably change the whole thing. But the Scarecrows or Falcons? They could be anywhere. The Patriotes? Not so much. The Highlanders? Anywhere. Panthers? Anywhere. So all that's really needed is a badass logo and color scheme. Cobra Kai sounded badass but it also looked badass. But we all know Ohio is probably getting a team and what could they possibly do there? I'm sure they'll think of something. So I can see why and even respect why certain GMs put so much effort into their branding, but I just want a nice color scheme and logo. As long as that pops, I don't care.
I think there’s multiple factors that impact what determines a successful expansions. When we talk brand, there are three factors. You’ve got location, name, and logo. To me, the location isn’t super important. This is a sim league, and fans or travel time isn’t relevant. But it’ll come back into play later. The name can be pretty important too. I think when you look at an expansion team, the name of the team really plays into how much someone will like it. One team for example that I don’t love, is Battleborn. To me, you question, “what’s a battleborn?” The reader should know immediately what the name represents. And in relation to that, the logo is ultimately the most kickass and important part. When you get drafted to a team or see an expansion team, you want to WANT to be on that team, and the look of the logo can play a big role in that
My favorite place to visit would be Yukon. Not because I particularly like it in that far in the North. No, it's my favorite place to visit, because it's where my sister is currently residing and playing hockey. It's nice to get to see her every so often, but also get to play against her on the ice. Baldy and I are on the same team and live together, so like I see him all the time. So, getting out of San Diego and going on the road and getting to see her, is super awesome. Plus it's always fun to play against a sibling. Last game, she even got in a fight with Hip Hurts, and she won. So that's fun, now we make fun of Hip all the time for it. So yeah, I think for me, it's especially nice to go to Yukon for those reasons. Next time we are there, maybe Oce and I can fight, but that will probably never happen.
If there is one place Sonja loves to visit both as a player (and when her time allows her to do so) as a civilian is for sure Edmonton. On one hand Sonja has quite a few friends who ended up on the other side of the Alberta rivalry. Despite them playing for a rival Sonja still enjoys to visit them and spend some time with them. After all at the end of the day hockey is just a sport so it's not like she shouldn't talk to her friends just because they ended up in a rival team. On the other hand this very rivalry is what makes visiting Edmonton an oh so enjoyable experience. Sure she is not the fan favourite over there which make sense but most of the interactions she is getting when she visits is nothing but banter. Which Sonja is all for. After all bantering your rival is a very fun thing to do.

Jean doesnt want to travel. He just doesn't like it at all; takes way too much time, always getting booed by away fans and it's a big waste of time he could've put into training. The only city he doesn't hate to visit is Saint-Louis, mainly because everyone likes him there. Now, if we're talking city he likes to visit, it has to be Montreal, his hometown team ! He grew up there and his parents lives there aswell ! Always a great time to go there. Unfortunately, Jean isn't spending a lot of time there because the SMJHL dont have a team in Montreal. However, when he's going to get promoted in the SHL, he's definitely going to enjoy playing versus the Montreal Patriotes, in front of a bunch of people he grew up with. Now that doesn't mean he's gonna pity Montreal when he will play them tho ! As a Toronto North Stars, he'll do everything to beat them, even if it means getting booed at home

Shadow Fenix really enjoys visiting San Francisco. The reason he enjoys visiting San Francisco is because it is on the coast line, and instead of flying to SF, the Seattle Argonauts take their team boat. He really enjoys the boat trip, where a sense of adventure fills up him and his teammates. And then when they get to SF, he is able to see the beautiful city full of hills, and great sites. He likes to run up the hills and get a good workout in before every game. Sometimes his teammates say that this is stupid because he's tiring himself out right before the game. But Shadow Fenix gets all his energy back when he stares into the ocean while he stands by the wharf, trying to avoid the tourist traps. And the weather in SF is always perfect, year round, so Shadow Fenix really enjoys that aspect of it.
Zeus Storm is not huge on travel and does not like to visit many cities or countries that comprise the SHL. He is very thrilled when there is a long home trip on the schedule because it means he gets more time to rest, relax, and properly re-energize inbetween games. The travel may be the toughest part mentally and physically on Zeus when it comes to being a professional hockey player. That said the one place he loves to visit is anytime the team has a road game in Seattle. This is near where Zeus grew up, it's where he spends his off season time at, and it is where his family and friends reside. This is a home coming for Zeus and he cherishes it now more than ever as he experiences the demand it takes to be a pro hockey player. Maybe one day Zeus could wind up signing with the Seattle franchise and get to spend the majority of his time at his home and not just some of his time each year.
Ongo Gablogian really prefers any city that has a signature dish or some sort of fine cuisine. Since he rides the pine almost exclusively, pregame meals aren’t so serious that they need to be able to provide the fuel his body needs for 35+ minutes per game. Like I said, he is an absolute plug and just kind of sits there on the bench, so he can really eat whatever he wants. And boy does he. Look at him. So Philly is great for their Philly cheese steaks, Chicago is good for their hot dogs (NOT their pizza which is absolutely dog shit), manhattan is obviously good for their pizza, up to Toronto for the French fries and gravy, down to Tampa for the seafood extravaganza, Texas for the bbq, New Orleans for the Cajun food, California for the Mexican food. You can really hit all the food groups in Ongo’s extensive library.
