Wanted to write something quick since I see my bank account slowly but surely dwindling down. I am a member in the ISFL where I don’t have much inspiration to write about football compared to hockey, so I definitely don’t want to repeat history here.
I’m really enjoying the SHL and although I am in my honeymoon stage of excitement, being a 2nd year player in the SMJHL, I have really high hopes for this player. Brett McMann is the third player I have ever created on this site. My first two players had great SMJHL careers, especially my very first who was part of the NL three-peat back in the S60’s. I won two cups there and it was really cool to be apart of something like that. Unfortunately my time did not last long and both of the players I have created in the past had non existing SHL careers. My goal for my current player is to stick it out and continue earning TPE so that I can have an SHL career that I am actually proud of. I was lucky enough to be drafted to Minnesota after amazing pre-draft chats and they seemed excited to have me be apart of the team. Currently Minnesota is in a deep rebuild stage which in my opinion is a great opportunity for myself to show my dedication and climb through the roster. There won’t be much competition for my player against my teammates besides the immense talent that Minnesota is currently drafting. I will be more than happy to be a top 6 forward as I am not here to max earn, but instead do as much as I enjoy. I don’t do off-season task, I don’t do big career tasks which makes the top of the draft class who they are… instead I want to be a consistent player who can fill holes in a roster and just have fun. Currently my main league is the VHL where I have experienced burnout of max earning as well as jobs. My player there now clicks welfare every week while doing all the mini tasks to earn really good TPE while also not being a max earner and I love it. This transitions to the SBA, ISFL, and here in the SHL. I do all the easy fun stuff, don’t waste my time on the big stuff, and in the end I am resulted with solid players who can actually contribute to a team’s success. This method of earning has really helped me to enjoy these leagues more where I need to know they are a hobby where we have fun, it’s not a job. At the end of the day with all said and done I am super happy where I am at within the SHL right now. I’ve got this season plus too more to play for the San Diego Tidal before moving up and I am pretty curious just to how high I can get my TPE before my rookie season. It will be fun being around probably 700-800 TPE on a team that will be starting to exit their rebuild stage. Hopefully Minnesota will like to have me for a whole career so I can show my loyalty and consistency. ![]() Commissioner allegedly doing stuff
Keep at it mate, you're definitely on the right track to have a fun and enjoyable career in the SHL! With the expansion coming up, that free's up a lot of space for players not on a 2K trajectory, so i'm sure you'll be able to be a great consistent force for your team!
