The not so hot take here, Justin Time deserves the nod for MVP. While scoring scoring goals does indeed win you games, stopping goals is required for those cherished points we need to end up on top of the standings and winning that cherished cup. We can talk about how Webb is on the same team as Justin, and hes reaping the benefits of having the top scorer to put pressure on the other team but if we focus on Justin Time's statistics, my answer becomes more clear. Leading the league in GSAA (Goals saved above average), goals against average and save percentage, we can see that Time is sitting above the standard set for SHL goalies. Now as a team sport you think, maybe his defense is a bigger part of his success, but not a single SFP defender is in the top 10 in blocked shots. Not a knock to any of the SFP defenders but as a true nod to Justin's ability in crease. If I were to choose who wins between Webb and Time, its pretty clear I lean on the crease constable for MVP.

this is a very easy prompt for me to answer because i am very tired of seeing the citadelles winning in the smjhl. it's a simple rule. the first line can only play one shift the entire game. only impacts the offense, not the rest of the team. we all know that the citadelles have a high-powered offense, and they can seemingly score at will at times. limiting them to only playing 1 minute a game not only makes their chances of winning less likely, it also equalizes things for teams at the bottom end of the league who lack that offense (or sim luck, as anchorage has faced the entire season) and gives them a better chance to actually make deep runs and dethrone the citadelles. we all want a fairer smjhl. we want greater parity. this rule change will give us that and allow us to make sure that we don't see a threepeat in the j.

Since forwards are always the ones dominating the points leaderboard, it's hard to compare them directly to the defense who had a huge impact on their team. From a pure defensive points perspective, Stavros Kondos has the most with 59. However, I don't think this is enough to justify an MVP award. If we look at a player with just 2 fewer points, we find Ace Lightning, who arguably had a much greater impact on their team with the most takeaways in the league with 92, and very few giveaways as well. Lightning also blocked almost double the shots that Kondos did with 240. All this taken into consideration with them being on a weaker Platoon team than Webb's Pride or Kondos' Argonauts makes Ace Lightning a reasonable MVP candidate when considering defense. The one thing bringing them down is their low +/- stat compared to the rest of their team. I think the standard to look at when arguing for a defense as MVP is Tosty's performance in S79, which no player can compare to this season. Realistically, a non-forward MVP for this season would likely be Justin Time. Bearing the weight of 54 games this season, Time basically led the league in every major stat for goalies. A save % of 0.923 and GR of 81 were both the highest of his already hall of fame worthy career, and his GAA of 2.54 was second lowest across his seasons. He's the reason why the Pride allowed the fewest goals in the league this season, just 5 less than Atlanta who likely had better team defense. If Webb or another forward doesn't win MVP, it looks like Justin Time makes the best case to win instead.

Written Option 2:

Although I think Logan Webb will probably win the Sarmad Khan due to him having the most goals and points in the league and voters just voting for the top player, I genuinely think that my vote will go to Justin Time this year. The soon-to-be first-ballot hall-of-famer finished the year with a 40-12-2 record with the first last San Francisco Pride. The same arguments made against Webb can be used against Time. They both played together on the best team in the league. Webb played on the best line in the league, and Time played with the best roster ahead of him. However, despite supporting a 2.54 goals against average, good for first in the league, and a 0.923 save percentage, also first in the league, there is one stat that stands out to me. Justin Time saved 48.97 goals saved above average. The second best was Evil Kyle Murray of the Baltimore Platoon with 29.72. That stat popped out to me. It's not like the team in front of him is playing outstanding defense and not making Time face a lot of shots. He's performing at an elite level and has the numbers to back it up. It's hard to compare forwards and goalies when it comes to statistics but when it comes down to the fine margins, I think he slides a little ahead of Webb for me.

Walbilly Koala has been chosen to mix things up to make the most unpredictable and bomb-tastic playoffs yet. Is there any other answer than to draw your role on the team from a hat? Koala isn’t sure there is. So, now all the players have swapped roles on the team while randomly having the chance to pick a role they can fulfill well. It, of course, still looks like hockey at the end of the day. But there is a non-zero chance that all the players skate around like headless chickens. Wouldn’t that be beautiful? It is a chance for every single player to test their boundaries in a role possibly unfamiliar to them. They would quickly learn the value and difficulty of every role within the SHL. Imagine the star of QCC as a goalie instead of tearing up the ice! Or a speedy forward like Walbilly Koala having to play on defense. Horrifying. But unpredictable and exciting. (159 words)

my player erik johnson would 100% rig the hell out of the playoffs, not to favor kelowna, because that is irrelevant, kelowna can very well win without rigging, he would rig it against qcc with one simple change: players are now only allowed to play 4 J's seasons and 3 J's playoffs, meaning that they graduate before thier 4th year, this simultaneously erodes QCC and strengthens KEL, however it comes with the added benefit of absolutely nuking NL, which makes me extremely happy as a self proclaimed "President of the fraudulent Newfoundland team" club, they out here being fraudulent and this change would immediatley expose them and continue to pedal my narrative which is frankly just glorious. the thought of absolutely tarnishing these current powerhouses to benefit almost entirely kelowna alone and really only substantially helps this season and next season makes this all the more reason to add such a dumb stupid awful terrible no good very bad change, just for Head office to realize in two seasons "wow this change was probably made by a chimpanzee banging two cymbals together and hoping they played uptown funk featuring bruno mars" which means they would have PERFECTLY fallen for my trap, to allow this elite s80 kelowna rookie class to prosper and possibly win a 3rd cup in a row in these ridiculous circumstances. i am going to start making a story board now so when the time comes i can turn this bit into an animated series and absolutely profit off my tomfoolery and open more card packs

Option 1:

In an effort to add some more parity to the league and prevent repeat winners, Jussi Mutou has introduced a rule where the cup winning team must release 1 player from their team. Some additions to this rule for explanation:

The released player has to be one who isn’t about to retire or hit free agency due to contract expiring.

To prevent a team from stockpiling these players, they are only allowed to sign such a player every five seasons.

A player released in this way is given a Cup Release tag and is no longer able to be released this way.

It must be an active player who is released.

Jussi fully believes this will prevent big dynasties and seeing the same teams in the finals over and over again. But he also believes that the Montreal Patriotes should be exempt from this rule for some reason. This is a genius rule and the league should look to adopt it right away.

Written Option 1:

It’s pretty hard to remove skill from a skill-based sport and expect results to be varied. If you allowed more penalties to slide, or made players use shorter sticks, eventually teams would adjust to this new skill set, and you could still easily get team repeating once they master the arts. As such, the most sure fire way to add parody long term into the sport is to add some good ole fashion RNG. There are a number of ways this could he incorporated, the most simple would be something WWE style. Perhaps they flip a coin ahead of time, and then whoever wins the toss will win the game in dramatic and perhaps comical fashion. However, given this would require players to match-fix, I think a better method would be based on dice roll per period. You can roll a dice for a number of things, but TOI makes the most sense. Your star defenseman rolled a nat 1? Not only will they not play that period, but you start the period on the PK as well. Roll a 20? Extra attacker for the whole period. There’s a lot one can do to tip the balance, but it goes both ways. Maybe you get SFP’s third line with loose fitting skates, or maybe you get them with a period long power play. It’s all RNG baby.

I mean, I've got money on SFP, so if I change the rules I'm just gonna rig it so they win. Matthias has slightly more integrity than me, though, and a good deal more insanity to boot, so

WELCOME EVERYONE TO THE SHL BACHELORETTE SHOW!!

Where the queen of the pride, @BadWolf, shall be wined and dined by every single competitor in the league. Tropical excursions, arctic adventures, political executions, everything is up for grabs to win Badwolf's favour - bribes, in the form of players and picks offered as tribute - can and should be commonplace, and every last instance of drama will be televised for the entire real fake world to see! I can't wait to see the bloodbath as every team's faction slowly starts to splinter over who they like best, ending in the first SHL civil war, as our fans go to war over which idol is the greatest.

The stan war of 2025 will be a stark, deadly reminder of why Matthias is never to be given power over anything or anyone, ever, at any time. Sometimes, going with the shady bastard who's gonna rig it is the safer option.

"That way - no, no, a little to the left!"

"Oh, shit, not like that wait no -!!"

crash!!!

"Oh god Cake is gonna hit me again" :'0
