Good morning SHL! We are here with the special one-time rules for the upcoming SHL Entry Draft (S83, the first draft in which our four expansion teams will be participating). For this coming draft ONLY, the order will be as follows:
Picks 1-4 will be determined in the normal/current manner (points amassed after a team is eliminated from playoff contention, with 1OA being awarded to the team with most points earned after playoff elimination).
Picks 5-8 will belong to the four expansion teams, in reverse order of their position in the expansion draft (to be determined by lottery, as previously stated).
Picks 9-24 will be awarded in the normal/current manner (reverse regular standings order as teams are eliminated from the playoffs).
Following rounds with proceed in the same manner, with the exception of the expansion teams, which will reverse/snake as in the expansion draft (i.e. 1234 in the first round, 4321 in the second, and so on)
