I think at the time and even now, the role Aulie plays (and the position of defense) isn't a monster need for us. Ashton gave us a young guy who has potential and at that point, it was more valuable than Aulie.

I don't think it was a trade that needed to be made. Almost felt like BB thought he had to make a trade at the deadline so he did that....

I realize Aulie wouldn't help us since we have so many D but I feel like we could have gotten something better for him. I'm not a big fan of Ashton but he is still young.

Yeah give Ashton some time. He looked real good tonight and his player is definitely getting much better since he got here. I may be a bit biased since I absolutely loved him when he played for Team Canada in the WJC and was ecstatic when we traded for him
