Game 60 -- Regina Force :force: vs St. Louis Scarecrows Scarecrows

Just 44 seconds into the game, Wert takes a tripping call for St Louis and the Force capitalize just 2 seconds into the power play chance as Guest scores his 6th of the season to put Regina up 1-0. The Force return the favor 5 minutes later as Marushin takes a slashing penalty and Pentecost cashes in on the power play to tie the game at 1-1. It was his 3rd of the season. St Louis dominates the shot total 10 to 3 in the period, but Guest scores his second of the game and 7th overall to put the Force up 2-1 going into the second period.

After St Louis kills off a couple of Regina power play chances, the Force's goalie, Prince takes a slashing minor and Pentecost would score his second of the game and 4th of the season to tie the game at 2-2. It would be the only goal of the period as Regina had 10 shots on goal compare to 6 for the Scarecrows.

Based on the first three minutes of the third period, you would think this game would be a goal fest as the Force took a 3-2 lead on Esposito's 9th of the season, but Mountain tied the score quickly after that with his 2nd. However, the final 17 minutes of the third period was goal less and the game went into overtime tied at 3-3. Both teams had 10 shots on goal.

After both teams had recorded one shot on goal each, it was Regina's second shot of overtime that won the game as Dahlstrom netted his first of the season to give the Force a 4-3 overtime road win.

Game 61 -- Vancouver Whalers Whalers vs Montreal Impact :impact:

Vancouver would be looking for revenge in this game as Montreal defeated them a couple of games ago by the score of 4 to 3. The Whalers would waste no time in taking a 1-0 just under two minutes into the game as Pergher scored his 9th of the season and ten minutes later, Warnick added his 5th for the Whalers as they took a 2-0 lead into the second period. Neither team was able to score on their power play chances in the first as Vancouver had 11 shots on goal compared to 5 for the Impact.

Abell scored the only goal of the second period with his 6th of the season to give Vancouver a 3-0 lead going into the final period. The Whalers did have a couple of power plays in the second but could not convert on them. They outshot the Impact 10 to 6.

The game was cruising along in the third until the Whalers scored three goals in little more than a minute span late in the game to win 6-0. Pergher added his second of the game and 10th overall, Uptuck netted his 2nd and Barbashev closed the scoring with his 18th of the season. Montreal had 14 shots on goal while the Whalers had 11 in the third, but Vancouver had 32 for the game and 25 for Montreal.
