Bojo Biscuit is a defensive defenseman currently playing for the West Kendall Platoon of the SHL and is currently their active General Manager as well. He was drafted second overall by the Platoon in the S20 SHL draft, so he has been a high profile player for quite some time, which makes his success virtually not surprising. Since then, he has become the anchor for the Platoon’s defense and remains one of the most essential figures in their locker room, which is obviously invaluable for his teammates and the younger players on the team. This scouting report will focus on Bojo Biscuit’s strengths, weaknesses, and what type of player he should currently be described and understood as.

Strengths:

Checking: When Bojo decides to lay the hammer on his opponent, he does so quite decisively. An excellent checker from both pure natural strength and technique; Bojo has the ability to disrupt nearly any offensive possession by the opponent, by simply checking them. The impact is so powerful, that the puck will more often than not simply be lost by the opponents stick and lead to a turnover. In fact, some players always check from behind, just based off the fear of being hit by Bojo, because once you are; you are going to feel the ramifications for several days at the least.

Skating: By far one of the fastest skaters in the entire league, Bojo is simply a blur at times when skating around the ice. For a defensive player, this is crucial, as it allows virtually no time for the opposition’s offense to be comfortable in a single area. Bojo can simply close the gaps instantly and make the possession that much more difficult. His dynamic skating also allows him to beat defenders often, and though he does not shoot the puck often, he can easily make an amazing pass, because he has so much open room via his speed. This can be considered one of his best three traits.

Strength: The second of his three biggest strengths. Wonder why Bojo is an elite checker on the ice? A great deal of the skill comes from his brute strength. Bojo is a gym and health junky, who racks up hours upon hours of hours inside the gym. This allows him to be virtually invulnerable when checked by his opponents, making it a near impossible task for the puck to be removed from his stick. Essentially, place the puck on Bojo’s stick and you are almost guaranteed an offensive possession, unless he is double teamed by the defense.

Endurance: So we have a player that is super strong and super-fast on skates, let’s now add someone who has an virtually unstoppable motor and takes a brick wall to him until he feels fatigued. Bojo emphasizes and epitomizes the never say die attitude, as he will always give any shift absolute effort. In fact, there could be a breakaway occurring by the opponent, and though Bojo may be well behind, he still won’t give up and may even catch the player, due to this skating ability. It is the combination of this endurance and Bojo’s other skills that make him so dangerous too.

Puck Handling: When the puck is on Bojo’s stick, it as if he is controlling a piece of yarn. The ability to maintain possession with the puck simply comes that easily for him. Even for someone who is technically labelled a defensive defenseman, Bojo maintains puck handling skills equivalent to that of some of the most dynamic forwards within the league. In addition, his puck handling abilities work wonders when attempting to the the playmaker on a power-play, as the defense is forced to sag off of him and given him space, otherwise they risk Bojo simply going pass them and having an easy shot attempt at the net. A proposition we are confident most defenseman will entertain.

Passing: For a defensive defenseman, Bojo being as dynamic as a playmaker he is, can be defined as astonishing. Honestly, if you told a stranger to select between Bojo and one of the best playmakers in the league, there is a significant chance the stranger would select Bojo several times. He can make nearly any pass when on the ice and sometimes the passes are the ones the opponents least expect. Especially on the power play, which Bojo captains and controls at times, his passing is so precise, that rarely when he is in control does the puck go pass the blue line. This obviously leads to extended power play opportunities, which can be an invaluable asset at times.

Defense: So you are the offensive player lined up against Bojo and hope to score against him during your game, good luck with that idea. Bojo is simply a wall and a fortress on defense and will perhaps makes a defensive mistake once every ten games. His technique is as perfect as you can have it, and his combination of epic skating speed, and brute strength simply make him the perfect defensive machine. Essentially, whatever side of the ice Bojo is covering during the game is locked down. Having one side of the ice covered absolutely perfecto by your defense is as strong of a weapon a team can possess. This is the last of the strongest three skills Bojo possesses as a player.

Weaknesses:

Plus-Minus Rating: Obviously being on a struggling team will negatively effect this stat, but Bojo’s plus-minus rating of negative nine is somewhat disappointing, considering the defensive juggernaut he is. Two of his teammates did have positive plus-minus ratings, and I am simply surprised that one of the was not Bojo. This weakness is obviously correlated with the lack of team success, but it is still worth monitoring in the future what rating Bojo will maintain. Should this negative rating becomes a consistent trend, then clearly this would be indicative on Bojo.

Good, but can you some work:

Scoring: Bojo is certainly capably of scoring goals on occasion, he did score five this regular season for the Platoon. However, by no means is his shot eye popping good or effective. He can make a goal if left wide open, but rarely will you see a highlight reel goal coming out of nowhere. Lacks a great arsenal of shots, as he is severely limited to having a strong slap shot, due to his pure strength. Bojo has shown improvement over time with his shot though, and it would not be surprising if this skill become a strength at some point in the future.

Overall:

Bojo Biscuit is a defenseman any team in the league would crave for, because he excels in so many different areas and some that are unexpected as a defensive defenseman. He is nearly impossible to beat on the defensive front of the game. Furthermore, he can easily intimidate the opposition through his pure strength and ability to be a monster checker. In addition, he has some really solid offensive ability too, as he remains a dynamic playmaker for a defenseman, while also simultaneously being able to be a serviceable goal scorer. To call Bojo one of the best defenseman in the league would not be a stretch by any means.

Game of Thrones Comparison: King Robert Baratheon in his prime

Robert Baratheon in his prime was one of the most intimidating but skillful warriors of the seven kingdoms. He displayed the culmination of his strength at The Battle of the Trident, where he killed Rhaegar Targaryen by slamming his warhammer into his chest. Bojo is an absolute monster in his own right, being arguably the strongest and most intimidating defensive presence in the league. He is also a leader, being the General Manager of the West Kendall Platoon, similar to how Robert ultimately became a leader by becoming king.
