I think instead of capped TPE for Milestone's you should hit endorsement targets and get paid money
Really like this idea!

Maybe have equipment come with an endorsement deal that makes sense with what stats it improves?

Hit that marker and you get the money as Deener said.

While Deener's idea makes more sense for TPE ratio and what not, I think that having the actual companies run by people would add an entirely new dynamic to the league, could be a lot of fun if done right.

Obviously it would have to be well thought out and fine tuned

Pick a company. That company says your stats in [attribute] must reach a minimum amount. Could event give it tiers.

Reebok [scoring]
10 goals: 500k
20 goals: 2m
30 goals: 5m

What about something like adding a business aspect to it...

Something like I pay 5M to buy, let's say Nike.

I then can talk to whomever I want to be endorsed by Nike. I sign players with my own SHL money, So let's say I sign, Chuck Goody to Nike to a 2m endorsement deal. I pay Goody 2M

Then the season plays out, and there's a set criteria for what would make that company profitable.

Say

20 Goals
30 Assists
60 Points
+10 +/-
100 Hits
5 Fights

Ect. Ect. Ect.

If they reach a certain amount of those criteria that season (Let's say if they hit 3) they in turn make the company their money back through "Sales", for each additional milestone they hit, the company gets a 500k bonus.

So the company puts in the risk, but they also get the ability to make money off of it.

At the end of each season the owners can decide whether to keep their endorsements with their contracted players or sever ties.

It doesn't need to just be Nike, Adidas, Bauer ect. We could have member created brands and whatnot. I think it'd be kinda cool tbh.

Thank you to My boys @Merica and @Ragnar for the lovely sigs!

Ilike

SHL companies like shl teams and rename the gear.

Could have rolling gear names for each season for media that change the stats given so its less static as well

I prefer this personally. I had a bunch of milestones in the SMJHL last season, but I couldn't claim shit because well... I was capped out already Undecided

Getting dosh for it would be a win-win, but it has to be scaled well to prevent people from raking in sickening amounts of money in a year. Maybe an endorsement earnings cap, or diminishing returns (after a bunch the amount you earn gets smaller).

Both giving away TP, or giving away money might spell problems because both contribute to what can become a TP-bloat. Since money can be used just as easily to get amazeballs equipment and +5 every week.

But it'll make capped TP less common, since people won't be able to cap themselves out through the milestones when they've slacked off for the better part of the season during the point tasks themselves.

Yeah, I think this would be a really cool idea for the SHL. Would add another job that's allllllmost GMing but not quite, where you're doing more than a agent would, and also would simulate a Free Agent experience for someone without them having to leave their teams.

We had endorsements in the original SHL. Nothing crazy or complicated. Your player would sign an endorsement deal with a company just like a contract.
