I'm mentally ill. SHL has turned me into a self-harming, depressed, PTSD-suffering, addict. Give me a GM job.
htf are you not over the GM thing yet?

No. I'm mentally ill, so I still think about it every day. Instead of the SHL supporting me and helping me through this struggle, they decided to ban, fine, and suspend me instead.

What villains. I'm truly glad that someone is finally speaking out for those of us suffering in silence.

Definitely.

If you're mentally ill, you shouldn't have to work like a normal person. Society should support you and ease your internal suffering through any means.

In what way did I, or this survey say that? Who is suggesting people with mental issues shouldn't have a job or support a family or work hard? Isn't this whole thing just about trying to help people? Last I checked everyone needs some help at some point in their life.

You get cancer, you treat it. You get a mental illness you treat it. End of story. Your argument is for an entirely different situation.

50% of SHL responded that they were mentally ill????? Wow, what a shocker. Smile)

I love that this day and age is more about finding some excuse for your shortcomings instead of taking responsibility for yourself as a human being.

Agreed

true, but id say some of the options you dont really need to be professionally diagnosed to have a good idea of having it or not

That makes the underwhelming and frankly easy assumption that people responding to this survey are self-diagnosed. I can only speak for myself, but in doing that I can comfortably say people approached it the same way I did. [Edit: I'm saying, in so many words, that I've actually been diagnosed.]

Like Bun was saying - if you get an illness like this, you treat it. A lot of people use online gaming as a way to escape other issues. Of course, with a very fast-paced social aspect to this game, tempers can run high and mental issues can be amplified instead of dampened. The people with mental issues get frustrated, trying to rectify themselves, but it's a very vicious cycle.

Elaborating and effectively putting people who think like this in their place would require SO many things, including personal references. It just isn't worth it, though.
